Just bought SB. im holding off on the proxies for this second.
if i dont care about lower approval percentages due to public proxies,
can i still use public ones to post? or should i really get private.
im not going to kill it. i just want to slowly build backlinks over time.

also theres 3 ways to run scrape box
private proxies -
public proxies -
public proxies for scraping - private ones for posting.
for prices have a look around the proxie sales section
if your a very light learner user ide go with public
proxies till you know your way no sence paying

Hi Sweety, I have a few questions for you regarding search operators in Scrapebox. I know we can select which blogging platform to scrape WP, BE and MT however I am not 100% sure about whether or not the search box at the top (1) does the same as the second box (2) assuming we are to enter just 1 keyword or search query on each box.
While that is one thing I am not sure about, I am here to ask about search operators in scrapebox. I've been trying to refine my results since most of the scraped sites I get are unrelated to the niche I am trying to target (amazingly enough) For instance, if I tick the "wordrpess blogs" button and enter "money clip" in the keywords box (2) I get all sorts of sites, including those that have nothing to do with "money clips"
In order to narrow my results I've entered:
allintitle:money clip
allintitle:money clips
allintitle:money holder
allintitle:money holders
etc., etc....
The problem is that I still got a bunch of unrelated/irrelevant blogs out of which several didn't have any of the keyterms in the title. SO I decided to take it a step further:
intitle:"money clip" inurl:money|inurl:clip
When I enter a list of keywords with those search operators I get just a handful of results and by a handful I mean 10-200 MAX (even while using very general niches). I could have entered "allinurl:" but I read somewhere that you can't use allintext, allinurl, allinblablabla in conjunction with other search operators.
So I was wondering if you could tell us about complex search operators and how they work in conjunction with the footprints that have already been hardcoded in SB to get better results because throwing a list of keywords in the keywords field (2) gets a bunch of sites that have nothing to do with the core idea.
The key is to get very specific results so that when the comments are written they are 90-100% relevant to the topic because if I enter a simple list of keywords related to my niche I almost always seem to get a bunch of blogs that have nothing to do with my topic, almost as if the each key-term was broken into separate words and the results were given based on whether or not each individual word is found somewhere on the site.
Any tips?
PS... I avoided posting the exact keyword/niche I am scraping because of obvious reasons so if you want me to provide more concrete examples let me know and I'll do it right away.

Well there isn't a problem to fix on the scrapebox side, things are working fine for me. Just harvested a few million urls while I was sleeping last night.
Can you please provide more info about your problem?
* How many proxies are you using
* Have you tried harvesting just a small ammount with private proxies or your own ip as a test?
*What error message are you getting?
*What engine(s) are you using?
*Can you post a couple sample keywords you are using to make sure your wildcards are setup correctly?
*How many results do you have it set to harvest?
Also if you want a couple of screen shots could be helpful.

Hey mate, Box 1 and 2 are combined for the search. So say you were harvesting Google and in your example.
Box 1 is static, it will be used with every query.
Box 2 is used in order down the row.
So in your screen shot you would query Google 3 times with 3 separate searches.
site:www.amazon.com Computers
site:www.amazon.com Laptops
site:www.amazon.com Notebooks
You would get the same results here as if you just went to Google from one of your IPs and punched the above into the box.
With the introduction of wildcards and the merge feature the first box can be obsolete. For quick access its handy, but I never use it.
So you could put a text file that had:
site:www.amazon.com %KW%
and merge that to your keyword list and it would give you the same scraped results. It would just put :
site:www.amazon.com Computers
site:www.amazon.com Laptops
site:www.amazon.com Notebooks
in the actual keyword box.
As for search operators, they are the same as if you manually typed them in. Google and Yahoo offer different operators, so you need to understand them specifically for each engine and make sure you harvest from that engine accordingly.

Try ignoring the first box altogether and just deal with the keyword box. Make it show in the keyword box exactly how you would want it to show if it was in G or Y! and it will work the same. Simplicity.
As for accuracy of your results, well thats subject to the same results as you would get if you searched from the same IP manually with G or Y! neither of which are terribly accurate in general on a large scale. If one was as accurate as you are looking for, ...well... no other search engine would exist.
You are likely just noticing it more cause you are dealing with a larger volume. I get the same failure rate when I manully search but its typically on a smaller scale of search so it doesn't seem as relevant.
Think about it, if you pull 1000 results on money clip from Google, you are getting the same results as if you manually searched and went all the way to page 100. How accurate are the results on page 100 of google for any search term? They aren't, have you ever looked?
Its really about accuracy, but to some degree, at some point its also about throwing mud against the wall to see what sticks. Numbers I mean.
I would love to go more in depth, but right now I have to run. On a schedule, kids want to go to the fair.

That's great, I'm sure most of us all had a great time when Scrapebox was working properly. As you can tell from others recently in this thread Scrapebox is no longer working flawlessly. Let's be honest, the main feature doesn't even work properly anymore.
I've said it before in this thread, and Sweetfunny I guess doesn't really care to address it. Scrapebox crashed EVERY fucking comment blast, it doesn't matter the type of blasts, blogs used, whether its slow or fast mode.
Oh but wait, there's a reporting feature to report bugs. That would be great if that thing worked. It timesout, and tells me it can't connect to the server and shits out everytime.

This shits getting old with it not working. My suggestion. KISS, keep it simple silly. I was always worried when you began adding more and more features, which means that you have to keep up with more and more shit. Now the main feature of this software doesn't even work well, or hell even at all.

Awesome Post Matt .. that was very helpful indeed! However just have a quick question as far as the search op. Which combination do you think provides the best results as far as accuracy without filtering out all possible places to post?
Would a simple: allintitle:my target keyword
Be enough to get me relevant results + good volume or do you add other search operators? If so ..are you able to get past 200 scraped results for a general niche?
I am inclined to believe that something like:
intitle:"my target keyword" intext:"keyword"
Would have to yield better results... I'll try it out in a few mins and I'll report back w my findings...
BTW, I understand the golden point you made about page 100 results not being as relevant as results found in page 1 for a particular keyword, however I just want to find the best combination of search operators which will yield the best results because it seems to me (and pls correct me if I am wrong) that just throwing a list of keywords in the keywords box will show a boatload of results that may not be as relevant as if we were to use search operators such as "intitle" "intext" etc...

That feature is already in SB... just load the list of sites you posted to and run a link check from the comment poster section. Once it is done you can export the list of sites where your live link was found (in txt format) ... can't get a better report than that!

Im very interested in this, I will be grabbing it probably in a week or so. But, can I use it to promote my blog? Ie - I make a blog about my niche, then I spam all other related blogs etc etc with the website being my blog address, and will this raise my blog rank?
Also, how soon should you expect to see an increase in google/bing/youtube rank using this software to make lots of backlinks?
