Lucid Dreaming

You should try hemisync. Pretty awesome soundtracks that drive your brain into different states.

Funny you mention them. I got every hemisync product that is on teh interwebs.
Some of it is just a pile of placebotic crap though.

have you ever fallen or tripped in a dream and wake up right away feeling the impact of the fall or the sensation in your legs from tripping?

P.S. Inception is now i think my new favorite movie of all time

lol , what a nice dream... I really laughed.

yea sometime I experience lucid dreams but very rarely... looks like you're thinking abe the inception concept a lot...

I do occasionally it is pretty awesome.

By the sound of things I really need to go and watch this Inception film...

I became obsessed with this stuff in my early 20's and after about a year of training and experimentation I learned how to produce these experiences almost at will. I read all the books I could get my hands on in this area and one of the best from a descriptive point of view was: "Astral Projection: A Record of Research" by Oliver Fox. When he wrote this book the phenomenon was not yet called lucid dreaming, but his accounts are inspiring and amazing.

And, actually when you are lucid dreaming things seem "hyper-real" and the sensory stimulation and clarity of thought is superior to "real" life.

Lucid Dreaming is amazing. Done it once. Never did it again. but REALYY want to

OMG yes. Isn't that crazy? Your whole body jolts. I get a similar feeling sometimes when i'm deeply relaxed...I'll feel like I'm falling through the floor, but the jolt never comes. :P I think the sensations (jolting and falling) are probably from some kind of neurotransmitter that's released into the bloodstream when you're about to fall asleep. The one that puts you in a "paralyzed" state while you're dreaming so you don't hurt yourself while you're thrashing around in your dreams....can't remember the name of it.

I use to be way into lucid dreaming and astral projection. It's interesting to wakeup in a dream, and to know that you are dreaming. Lucid dreams can be used to spark out of body experiences (OBE). My first and only OBE happened through a lucid dream. When I woke up in my dream, and started to call everything in my dream world BULLS##T. I was like No way this is real, this isn't logical, I must be dreaming. From there I consciously used my dream world to fly around and do stupid stuff. When I decided to go back to my body, and wake up I couldnt because I had sleep paralysis--- I've had sleep paralysis several times, but this time was different. As I pushed against my bed to try and wakeup, I felt my etheric body sink through my bed and to the floor, then I was jolted back into my body.

Fun stuff.

BTW Lucid dreaming and astral projection are not the same thing. OBE's have different levels.

You guys should watch the movie 'Waking Life' it is an insane movie and it has a good part about lucid dreaming.

This could serve as a great escape from the daily drudgery of life, however, imagine this happening to a person who doesn't have a very strong sense of self-control? This person would prefer to stay asleep so that they can escape to a world of dreaming where they can do whatever they want. Remember that scene in Inception where they run this center where people come to get drugged so that they can start dreaming and escaping reality?

Yes, I have too. I can't do it consistently though but when it happens it's amazing!

i was into that too. but the sleep paralysis scares the shit out of me. i can't sleep on my back for that reason. i have noticed over the years if i have caffeine at night than i am more likely to have a lucid dream. lucid dreams are cool i just don't want the sleep paralysis that often comes with them.

LOL because I love and watch too many Zombie and Werewolf films my lucid dreams are pretty full on. LOL

from what i have heard if u smoke some pot then go to bed while you're still high => vivid dreams

I do it all the time. But it's this strange thing where I know that I'm dreaming but I for some reason don't understand exactly what that means, and I think that I'm in a different dimension or something... So this is the kind of thing I do - I remember in one dream, I thought I was in the past, and had found out some secret or something. Knowing I'd forget when i woke up, I thought I could write it down, hide the paper, and then find it the next morning. All sorts of strange things like that...

Sometimes though i do understand more and just repeat something to myself and try to remember it when I wake up. And it'll work, but it'll be something completely useless, because again I thought the dream world was semi-real.

ugh, i hate the dreams that i have early in the morning, where i'll do my whole day in my dream, or usually up until noon, and then i wake up, and here i am still thinking that it's noon, and i got all this stuff done that i had planned to do, then i realize it was all just a dream.

or the dreams that are really weird are the dreams within a dream. where like, in your dream, you go to sleep, and you have a dream. so that in the dream (within your real dream), you're aware that you're sleeping, and that you're having a dream, but you're completely not aware that none of it is real. heh, if that made any sense at all. toldja, it's weird :)

I'm walking around on a road, in the forest (I know this place inrl) I have the feeling i have been walking for hours, then suddenly 2 very weird bears came out and attacked me, and i thought "HELP HIPPIE BEARS" <- no idea. I got away and walked for a few more hours.
(forgot the next part) <- after that one

I end up in some weird place, with alot of school kids (like 7:th - 9:th grader i would guess) And a few of them drives cars, so i get a lift with 2 chicks and a dude i think

I ask the chicks for a cigg, (saw them smoking before) they said no so i killed both of them with a stick and then me and the dude took a cigg then i woke up.

And this was all controllable, if i got an amusing impulse it happened.

haha, i do both of those also. dream about being asleep, and then "waking up", from my dream-in-a-dream.

sometimes also i dream about not being able to get to sleep and by morning i'm not sure how long i actually slept and how long i actually did lay there awake.

dreaming about work through the whole night definitely sucks
