YouTube AdSense Revenue

I became a partner with YouTube a few months ago, but haven't taken full advantage of AdSense yet.

Upon registering, I was under the impression I would get 1 or 2 cents per view and potentially even more cents per comment. I recently read an article that I thought said YouTube changed its payout per views and that it wasn't even a penny anymore.

I know there are no "specific" guaranteed numbers from YouTube's end, but does anyone have a general rule of thumb for what partners get paid per view on YouTube? Thank you for your help

let's say it's 1 cent per view, if you got 1 million views it's 10,000 dollars. nice pocket cash

There is no way it's 1 cent a view. Otherwise I could easily make 100 bucks a day off Youtube lol.

I'm not a partner, but why wouldn't youtube work exactly the same way adsense already does? Some sort of revenue share, where you get XX%? It wouldn't make any sort of sense for google, who already has the tracking to associate the ads your video's display to clicks and profits, to not just give you a flat percentage of what your video makes.

While I'm sure CPM ads show up on youtube, they are definately not the only ones there, so it would make the most sense to just give you a percentage like adsense does.

So, in short, the higher paying the ads are that display with your video the more you get paid makes sense in my head.

I believe they do work out a percentage and do use AdSense from what I read in my affiliate contract. I have some extremely viral videos that are about to launch and am trying to figure out how much revenue will come from this aspect of my campaign. Any other thoughts?

Coolfx35, I had read a couple places that it was 1 cent or 2 cents per view -- in which you would be correct $10,000 or even $20,000 would be incredible pocket change! I was talking to a user who claims he IS making this kind of $, which leaves me more confused than I was before talking to him.

It's typically .40 - 1.00 per 1k views for the average YT partner. It's based on Click Through just like regular adsense.

You rack in your views.

They use "Total page eCPM"

it starts out at about $.04 a day, so
for every 1000 views, you get $.04

for every person that clicks an ad next to your video, the eCPM goes up
so say you got 20k views today, and 5 ad clicks.
your eCPM goes to $0.25
that's 5$ minus a little deduction for them helping you out
