As for the OP's post I am in total agreement. It's almost as if the general populace is in a trance most of the time. They do the same things and make the same kinds of choices every day and think that this is all that life has to offer

Here in the UK most people seem happy enough in their 9-5s as long as they can get off their heads at the weekend. It helps them to forget, I guess. We have to remember that from an early age we're brainwashed into thinking fame/fortune/material objects will bring us happiness, so we keep on plugging away chasing the money. Its a pity really.

Thanks for your comments on the site. If you speed because you like to, that might be a bit different from what I'm talking about in the article--what I'm referring to is more of the everyday urgency people seem to experience while driving anywhere. Doing it for fun might be a different thing entirely!
