Let me just stop you there and tell you that I agree. It's worthless and means nothing in the end. I also believe that (the pointlessness) about life in general. But from this, I create my own meaning and I kinda do what I feel like I should do in life. Within THAT context, the website has meaning, because it helps to enlighten people to the trivial bullshit that is clogging up the enjoyment they could be having in a world that probably lacks inherent meaning anyway. I'd like to help people be a little happier :) even if it's just through ranting about my own convictions.

Well that kinda sucks. Maybe you find happiness through your inner peace (or neutrality) and you just don't call it that? I think lots of famous/revered people have preached about renunciation of extremes, over-action, etc. etc. A bunch of Taoist stuff comes to mind. The idea is that once you give up trying so hard, things kinda just fall into place.

It seems like you probably only made that website for personal reasons. But you really could make some money with it if you want.

Change to a theme with a side bar on it and add a link to some good relationship product, self improvement product, or whatever. Just search clickbank marketplace to find something that would fit in with the topics you're discussing on the blog. You could probably even fine tune it and use several different products, each one selected to only promote on whatever page it is most relevant to.

I'd suggest you stick to just a single ad on each page though, you don't want it to look spammy. Just keep a nice simple theme, include a sidebar with the adspot and then below it a categories list, and recent posts list. If you do that you can keep the nice simple "I'm just here to share my thoughts" feel to your blog, but make yourself some money at the same time.

If you're already making a lot of money and just wanted to do this for fun, well congratulations.
But if your still struggling to make any real money you should give this some thought. You could do some seo to target for keywords in the self help niche and probably make some bank. It's a really competetive niche but just do some keyword research to find some keywords that are a little less competetive, but still with enough search volume to get some visitors to your site. Your articles are good enough you might have a low bounce rate if you target the right keywords. If they stay on your page long enough to read the article then there's time for them to be drawn to your ad.

Anyway, that was just my thought after reading the thread and looking at your website. Goodluck with whatever you do with it. :cool:

Thank you for the tips and good wishes :) the site is mostly for personal reasons and to introduce people to my perspectives, unique or not, so I don't know if I'll be monetizing it really. I am quite poor, though, so it could be a good venue, I guess.

I didn't create the vid, its cool to only care about what you want to.. but you only understand the surface of what you say is a "rat race", what you say is "real" is fiction and vise versa...

Well if you do it right then you can accomplish both. Have a nice clean site that gives you a platform for sharing your viewpoints, and make a little money at the same time. Nothing wrong with making some additional money whenever you can. :cool:
