Guys, guys, guys..........hold it PLEASE. i have questions that are valid ones because i tell ya, I'M FREAKIN' OUT.

the whole replica selling stuff...........naturally one can make a ton of money with those but here is my question or comment or whatever................it's ILLEGAL to sell them, is it not ? i am not being sarcastic but i seriously have read a lot of stuff online about selling replicas and i keep reading over and over and over again that it is illegal. heck, i don't want to end up in prison (i work in one as an officer and it's not PRETTY) for a few bucks.

does anyone KNOW what the legal aspects are of selling replicas online ? i'd really like to know.

Not if you sell it has a "replica". It's only illegal to sell one and say its the real thing. These are legal products very identical to ipods but not the same and (important) do not say ipod on them. It's a fine line - stay on the right side.

Just wanted to tell everyone to be careful selling replica items. They can and will bust your ass eventually. I was selling replica Mitchell & Ness a few years back and making good money. I was doing this for about 2 years until ICE came knocking my door down with a warrant. And believe me they are not nice about it. They tore my house apart, seized all of my computers, seized all of the cash I had, froze my bank accounts, credit cards, paypal account. Basically left me with nothing and a wife and 3 kids to support. Turned out I had been under investigation for a year and a half. They had even done buys from me off of ebay. To make a long story short I spent 6 months in a Federal Prison and this has all but destroyed my life. (Now a felon and unable to get any kind of decent job - that is why I am on this forum) I was actually lucky because my inventory was very low at the time. They base your sentence off of value of goods. Which when they value the goods they take full retail value of the real item. I was paying $25 ea. for these but they hit me for $350.00 ea. They can also go back and total all of your sales and hit you with that. There is good money in selling these items but I now know the reward is not worth the risk.

? In the actual auctions that you were listing, did you state that they were replicas or not? Or did you try to past it off as the real thing?

I does not matter if you are advertising them as replica's or not. Selling replica items is illegal either way. I ran both types but advertising them as replica gets them VERO'ed quicker.

Its only illegal if the replica has the REAL logo and trademarked items on it. To have a look-a-like that functions the same is not illegal at all.

You are partially right and partially wrong. If the item does not have the trademarks you are ok but if you are using trademarked terms such as iPod or Nano in your description that is illegal such as "replica iPod". That is a direct trademark infringement. I didn't disclose this to argue with anyone, only to warn everyone. Believe me, I know what I am talking about more than most of you after dealing with the Feds.

2 years ago I was selling replica nike shoes from and I got hounded by us customer. I got a CD and had to stop.

I gotta say. This is what black hat is all about! Smitty5168... the real deal.

Using trademark terms is not illegal. Thats why verizon says sprint in their commercials and direct tv says time warner cable. Target store brand products say compare to "insert trademark term". If anything you may get a cease and desist order. We are talking about replica's here not fakes. If you sell fakes use all fake names, address and paypal.

I know a friend who gets replica rolex watches for $800 and then resells on ebay for between $3000-$5000.

He is trying to get me involved and it seems very lucrative.

To date, he has got all positive feedback and the only people who can tell they are fakes are more or less experts at rolex watches.

Has anyone had any experience with selling these types of goods like replica watches?

I know there is a ton of cash to make but the risk is potentially huge if your whole operation gets exposed.

On the Rolex watches... I've actually found them for $200 - $300 a piece. I bought a couple for personal use and they are good. I have a friend who works at a watch repair shop and he said that they are very good. However... I'd be afraid to try and sell them on Ebay. I've been banned for legitimate selling on ebay b4. I'm kind of an Ebay hater.

hey i am kind of new to this forum but i am an avid member of some other forums. Why risk and sell relica items? i dont see any advantage to it as one day they will get you . I sell unlocked cell phones, i have very reliable and trustworthy suppliers with great communications and payment methods. I have gotten to the point in which almost 8,000$ per month profit is generated and i purchase in large bulks. I can offer ppl of this forum wholesale prices on many cell phone models that are not REPLICA (they do not have logos of any company on them) . If purchased in bulks of 10 you can see very good profit , or can get them drop shipped , but then you would have to sell for top dolllar (which can be done if listed right). Pm me for more info on this and we can talk or setup a chat on IM.

Smitty. I was a powerseller on ebay for about 6 months up until a bit ago. I was just selling just crap script I bought for $8 from DP. Anyways..I would like you to message me. I pretty much got the whole ebay thing down and just need a good "supplier" to get back in the game. I would love it if you let me in on one or two honest suppliers you know and dealt with.

Much appreciated.
