Since the end of the New Year in my country, I have hardly been home for a meal cooked by my wife. I have been home almost only 1-2 days a week. Every night I am in a state of insomnia and anxiety. I prefer to live in the company.

My actions are getting slower and slower and my mind is getting numb. I started to think of ways to relax, to get massages, to go to the pub and ‘burn’ money. Drinking a lot of alcohol. But when I got sober, I lay down on my bed and started to think.

My head started to hurt, I couldn't see inside myself, and I started making plans to buy luxury cars, new toys, and satisfy my vanity. But then I struggled inside. There was always a voice inside telling me to stop everything.

I couldn't study calmly anymore, couldn't think in a calm manner. I have become weak inside and I often reminisce about the past.

I think I'm sick.

Idk, it's like everyone is super stressed right now... With that tariffs drama a lot of businesses is affected (even local) and it just takes a toll. Plus if you had any issues before it just multiplies. It's just like this bad time. I'm not feeling very well mentally either tbh.

A little bit of vanity is not the end of the world if you buy stuff within your means and fix other problems (buying stuff won't fix them). Don't 'burn' money, you'll regret that later.

@ChrisHasADog

Yeah, I think you have ADHD.

Your first mistake is to drink alcohol, you should avoid it by any means. Because it might relax you for some time but eventually it does lots of damage, and with anxiety it does not go too well.

I suffer in same way, truth is no therapy or meds will be able to help.

You gotta do it by yourself, find some hobby and be always in action so your anxiety and thoughts will have little to no time to take over.

Spend more time with your wife.

Take care man,

Spend more time with your wife or doing what you love. Drinking and partying is all good but what do you really like to do? For me, I like traveling. Burn money on tourist places than in a pub. Do some water sports. You need to take care of that inner child and give him what he loves to do. :P
Idk if that made any sense. :D

Sorry buddy... I’ve been in this state more times than I can also count this year.

One thing that’s helped me not lose my mind completely is taking a full day off and heading to a nature park with a close friend.

No pressure to talk about anything deep... we just exist there for a bit.

Something about being around trees and open space makes things feel a little less heavy. I mean, It doesn’t fix everything, but it gives me space to breathe again.

That has really helped me get through a lot of anxious thoughts.

Actually, things are really crazy right now. I’ve been working way more than usual just to keep things steady and feel a bit comfortable. Also to be able to save and still have enough to invest.

See a doctor. Explain everything you think is connected to your mental health - everything in this post and anything else you think is linked. Do NOT self-diagnose. Think about the things (if anything) in your life now where you feel in a better place and do more of that.

But the first point is the most important. Make an appointment today. The longer you leave things, the harder it is to ask for help. I speak from experience. Look after yourself and I hope you feel better soon.

You're not alone in feeling this way, and yes, what you're going through sounds like burnout and possibly depression or anxiety disorder. Your body and mind are signaling that something needs to change. Constant work, lack of rest, poor sleep, and emotional detachment from loved ones—it all adds up. Trying to fix the emptiness with alcohol, spending, or distractions only works for a moment. That voice inside telling you to stop? Listen to it.

You need a pause. Not for laziness, but for healing. Start small: talk to someone—a friend, a therapist, or a coach. Try to get proper sleep. Go back home more. Reconnect with what matters to you beyond work and status. You're not sick, you're overwhelmed—and with help, you can get back to being yourself.

Endless anxiety often stems from avoiding challenges. Take on difficulties in life, struggle for progress, and steer clear of excessive luxury. Luxury breeds laziness, laziness leads to tough times, tough times create strong individuals, and strong individuals bring back prosperity and comfort. This cycle repeats over and over throughout history.

seek professional help. Ask your doc to fix the insomnia. If sleep gets fixed your anxiety reduces

If am not wrong they prescribe zolfresh 3 mg and melatonin 5 mg combo for 4 weeks. Your sleep should be fixed

Once you catch up on your sleep all the anxiety reduces

Well I made a post about taking CBD products and used a word to express calm down rhymes with trucking... Anyways got a warning about it rofl take this guys advice and try my advice on taking some CBD products:

I can’t totally relate to what you are saying but I have had my own hurdles to overcome and what I would say from my own experience is the fact you are analysing your behaviour is a really positive step.

I think being self aware is the first step, now you’ve opened up a channel in your mind that hopefully will start to look for and provide some insight into why you are having these issues, then you need to start thinking about things that you might be able to change or reframe in order to mitigate some of the issues you are facing.

Also, I’m not saying this is the right step for everyone, but for myself I have been using grok for self development; I use ghost mode so it doesn’t keep my conversations, then I just put my thoughts out as raw and unfiltered as possible to grok - almost like I’m writing a diary - then I get the feedback offered by Grok and honestly it has come up with some really helpful insights.

For one thing Grok will put my thoughts into a structured and logical format and that in itself helps me to make a little more sense of them. It will also offer advise to help deal with some of the things that I struggle to comprehend about my own thoughts or feelings.

Maybe that’s worth a try for you as well. Otherwise, like others have said, therapy would quite likely be a good option as well.

Sounds like you’re really burned out, man.

You’re not broken — just overwhelmed. It happens. But this lifestyle isn’t fixing it. It’s just numbing it.

That voice telling you to stop? Listen to it. It’s trying to help.

You might need rest, real rest. Maybe talk to someone. A therapist could really help.

And hey, even just slowing down a bit, being quiet with yourself, could make a big difference.
