Curious to know if it’s still possible to rank a website with zero backlinks purely through content and on-page SEO.

  • Can strong topical authority and content alone be enough?
  • Are there niches where backlinks aren’t that important?
  • Has anyone seen results with a zero-link strategy lately?

Would love to hear your experiences!

It's Possible when you research keywords which is low sv and didn't have any strong competitors. Also make sure properly build EEAT.
I've try in punts Niche and it's working without any backlink.

Yep it’s highly probable if the niche and keywords are low competition. If you ask answer the question directly, you’ll benefit from rankings

Parasites are easier than new sites but with new sites you can still rank for low competition keywords without backlinks if your on site SEO is structured well

If you want an easier way to rank, do parasites like in my guide here: https://www.blackhatworld.com/seo/80-a-day-black-hat-seo-with-google-docs-full-parasite-seo-guide.1701089/

Yes, niche-specific topical authority paired with exceptional content and optimization can lead to rankings without backlinks. Results vary widely.

Yes, it's possible if your content is really good and the topic isn’t too competitive—but backlinks still help a lot.

Google can still rank it—even without backlinks. I’ve seen some pages rank just from solid internal linking, clean site structure, and useful info that keeps people reading.

It's possible to rank a new website solely on on-page SEO efforts. By optimizing content, meta tags, headings, and site structure.

it’s still possible if competition is low and targeting local keywords instead of global KW

Yes, it is possible.

Backlinks are one of the factors but there are many others.

If you satisfy enough of the other factors it is possible backlinks will be disregarded for your website.

However, this is rarely the case as people don't have good enough content, or the site is slow, or they stray from the topic, or site structure is messy, or it's hosted on bad neighbor IP etc etc.

I find balanced approach most effective.

10% focus and effort on backlinks, 90% on other factors (mostly content).

That is impossible. In fact, you need a higher budget now for seo.

It's possible to rank without backlinks, but only in low-competition niches. Otherwise, backlinks are always the first step for ranking on google.

While backlinks are still a crucial ranking factor in SEO, Google’s algorithms are getting better at assessing other signals like content quality, user experience, and site authority. A well-optimized site with high-quality content can rank without backlinks, but it will take longer. Ideally, you should still focus on building a solid backlink profile over time.

to rank for any valuable keyword and sustain high positions in the serps you will need links.

you can rank for shitty super long tail worthless kws or maybe brand new kws where you catch a rising trend first but to actually maintain rankings for any substantial amount of time you need to have a strong backlink profile.

if you somehow manage to rank without backlinks for anything with high value traffic expect soon enough someone will copy your content strategy and outrank you pretty fast with aggressive link building unless you already have a strong backlink base to deter competition

Of course, as always, if you have done the proper keyword research.

Absolutely possible in low-competition niches. Strong content, topical authority, and solid on-page SEO can get results — but in competitive spaces, backlinks still play a key role. Context matters!

Especially possible for low competition keywords and alternative languages

Whether a website can rank in Google without backlinks in 2025 depends on several factors, including the niche, competition, content quality, and SEO strategy. While backlinks remain a strong ranking signal, it’s increasingly possible to rank for certain keywords without them, especially for low-competition terms, thanks to Google’s evolving algorithm and emphasis on content relevance and user experience.

Yes, Many website rank without backlink, SEO. if the keywords competition low then chance are high to rank on google without any SEO.
