DeepSeek vs ChatGPT - Whats your pick?

i personally use perplexity by default, however i also use both deepseek and chatgpt when necessary. no need to get married to any one model imo. use what's best for the task at hand.

now how about some light-hearted shitposting, my european bhw brothers and sisters? :p

Well, we, the eurotards, made another progress.

We can't use plastic straws because they're bad but we can use paper straws with a 1000s chemicals now.

I tried to use DeepSeek more, it seems to give more comprehensive answers, especially when it comes to code, but I use OpenAI more often because of the constant server busy issues.

So the ChatGPT wins?

ChatGPT is definitely more polished and versatile for general use, but DeepSeek seems to have potential in niche areas. The real question is, can DeepSeek actually challenge OpenAI in scalability and real-world application, or is it just another 'alternative' that fades out?

Yea, ChatGPT is the Google of AI bots! No one dares to create a challenger to it. Lets see what future has got for us.

ChatGPT outshines DeepSeek with pure wit—like a flashlight trying to compete in a solar-powered world.

ChatGPT is miles better than DeepSeek overall because of its memory and custom instructions. Plus, you can shape its personality however you want.

I'd choose Grok over all of them at the moment. Absolutely incredible what it can do.

For now, once the API and chat interface is scaled to handle the server load, I'd use Deepseeka a lot more. I also want to see if they launch a finetune model and maybe multi-model models.
Okay I am back after a few days after trying out the Deepseek API. It is very slow compared to Open AI API, sometimes even taking twice as long. I thought I would get 4o benefits at the price of mini but the speed makes it prohibitive for API use.

The one thing I like a lot about DeepSeek R1 is front-end development.. Personally I think designs from DeepSeek are better.

And ever since 2 days after it's release I also keep getting the "The server is busy" message all the time.
