I received a COD (Cash on Delivery) order on my e-commerce store. Since I had no issues with COD in the past, I shipped it without concern. A few days later, I noticed I hadn't received an order confirmation, so I checked the status and it was RTO (Return to Origin). The reason? "Customer didn’t pick up the call. After three failed attempts, we are returning the item."
Since COD orders are often ignored, I wanted to confirm this with the customer. When I called him, I was shocked by his response....he said he had received the order, had been using it for two days, and loved it!
I then asked him to share the transaction details so I could follow up with my courier partner. He replied, "I paid in cash." That’s when everything became clear.
Here’s what happened:

Here’s what happened:
- The customer placed a COD order.
- He paid cash to the delivery agent and received the product.
- The courier agent falsely marked the order as undelivered, filed it for RTO, and sent a fake parcel back to me. (When I opened it, it was not what I had sent)
