I am now a Deepseeker, RIP OpenAI

You know when you use a tool to do core, advanced level coding. I have never felt like this for a long time until last night when I played around with Deepseek for about 10 minutes.. The play that took me into real programming unexpectedly astonished that I couldn't go to bed.

Like play, it spat out exactly what I wanted. I wasn't even ready.

Result was a long python script about 300+ lines of code, a real bot built on beautiful soup API. Like..then I started reading the code, shit made sense.

Got shit together, testing testing. Fun fun.
awesome it will be game changer :)

deepseek blew up. couldn't use deepthink r1 since today

I really hope they roll out a paid version that's stable for paid users on pay as you go plan just like OpenAI.

Wow sounds like a really good AI, did not know about it will check on it I mean right now I use AI only for basic things nothing serious but still good to know there is something better in case of needs and more about coding.

the question is, what is the catch behind all this? They will not spend this much money for charity

are you guys happy about giving your code to the Chinese government? (checkout the bottom page link on deep seek) View attachment 415840

lol I'll stick with second best. This is a good example at what china done in business decades ago by employing spies in western business to steal secrets, and exploit contracts from Chinese factories.

This is them just at it again, except now they are scraping Westerners code bases, lol
Well everyone steals. I might as well benefit from it in the meantime haha

lmao fool, trusting american companies to not spy on u is a wild take. also their model is open source so they can't spy on u if u run it on your own servers, unlike openAI & co. stop falling for American propaganda

Yeah, its a propaganda war, more than a technology war.

I've tested it for a while now and can't get back to gpt now! )) As far as I know it's a Chinese ai and probably us does not want to lose ai market share, so they would not let it to stand out from the crowd but it's a golden key for those who got know it.

It is the Chinese government or the USA. What is the difference? You just repeat western fear-mongering. Western companies, will also take your data and don't seem to be interested in the general public. This model is also open source, unlike OpenAI, unironically.

The western news started saying it is stealing people's data and has some serious security risks. Lol

If you need to learn Chinese first, not even 5 Pina Coladas will make me understand the tool

I’ve read some opinions, and I’m honestly shocked. you’d have to be seriously intellectually impaired not to see the difference between these two models or in fact between these two countries.
ai should be objective/impartial and provide truthful information, regardless of political preferences or other factors. try asking both AIs about something politically sensitive like the status of Taiwan or Liu Xiaobo…. ask about something unrelated to IT and you’ll feel like you’re facing a little brainwashed chinese guy trying to sell you pure bullsh..

before you believe the nonsense spread by DS, do some research. if you don’t, and just accept their lies, your intelligence is probably on par with a bathroom door handle.

if someone can’t distinguish between providing data to a learning model and outright data theft, they clearly don’t understand social media and probably shouldn’t be using the web at all.

I aint live in either of these countries but the difference between them is massive. someone asked about the difference between the american and chinese governments. Well, maybe.. labor camps? freedom of speech?

if someone uses DS for personal, harmless purposes, that’s totally fine. But comparing the two AIs without understanding the difference between collecting data for profit versus collecting data to spy on citizens and eliminate those who don’t dance to the government’s tune is simply intellectual incompetence.

I also switched to DEEPSEEK, I've used Gemini AI, OpenAI and Meta AI.

It doesn't make much difference, they're all military weapons, they just change the country.

They still make my work a lot easier and I'm using DEEPSEEK a lot, I have a lot of fun.

I just need to not mention China, the Chinese people or the regime. GENIUS! ^-^

ME: I like Macau.

DEEPSEEK: Macau's got a cool mix of Portuguese and Chinese vibes, fun casinos, and awesome historic spots!

So, I want to know something, does anyone here NOT use ANY AI? I'd like to know that stuff.

I don't want to be political but as an European, after Trump's comments about invading Greenland, I couldn't care less if the data goes to China instead of the USA.
And I used quite enough the data from the Wayback machine, so it is fair game. That's internet.

Anyway I much prefer the open source model instead of feeding the profits of those greedy GAFAs.
