I want to start blogging, and I’ve bought an expired domain name to take advantage of its authority. These are its related metrics. What do you think? is it a good choice? Will it help me with indexing and appearing quickly in search engines?

Please, just make sure that you respect the previous niche of this expired domain. If you bought an expired domain that was used for years to talk about football, don't transform it into a recipe blog. There are some people buying those expired domains and trying to totally change the niche of the domain and it's not a good idea.

It is good domain, however i have seen that even if domain is extremely good, it does not guarantees success, however quality content, to the point and on-site SEO increases the percentage of success.
I have done around 10 - 15 expired domains past few months, some with same niche and on some i have changed niches, my success rate is around 90%.
One thing is tricky with expired domains that google can put them on sandbox for longer period of times, my two domains went to sandbox and after two months they suddenly started getting traffic, in the meantime i had not done anything.

So if you want to play with expired domains, then better to have 3 to 5 right away, with different niches, to increase chances of success.

You should use it for the same purpose as it was used before expiring, because if you do it differently it won't work.

Interesting that you ask these questions...did you buy blindly or did you research indexing and how quickly this would appear in search engines? Just keen to understand the starting points....can you say what the previous niche of the expired domain was?
