Does anyone have experience reindexing Medium articles that dropped from index during Aug core update?
I have a few "best *service* companies" (review content) articles that were ranking very high before Aug 2024 and then they dropped from index (even through they all have INDEX tag) during the Aug core update. Since then I tried different methods and nothing works for indexing them. I deleted all UTM tags from links within the articles, put all necessary review content edits to the text, wrote a more first-hand experience content, but still nothing works (e.g. indexing services, building backlinks, nothing works). I even moved the URL from a publication to a personal account to change the URLs (in case g00gle penalized a specific URL) but still nothing. Any advice? maybe there is someone or something you can recommend?

P.s. keep in mind that only review content articles dropped from index, all other information articles on this medium publication/directory are still indexed and ranking very well.

Try updating your medium article. Add fresh, unique content or multimedia (images, video link). This will signals to Google that the content is new and hopefully re crawling.

I get how frustrating this can be. It looks like Google treated your articles differently after the August update. Even though you've made changes, there could be something else going on that's not immediately obvious. I’d suggest checking if there are any messages or warnings in Search Console, and if you haven't already, request a reindex. Also, focus on getting high-quality backlinks and keep improving the content, maybe adding new information. Sometimes after an update, it just takes time to see results. Don’t give up!
Why ChatGPT bro ?

thanks everyone for the answers. just to clarify, I rewrote these articles almost 100% and still no luck. Also, since it is Medium, there is no access to GSC.

It sounds like you’ve already put a lot of effort into troubleshooting the issue, which is great. Since the problem seems isolated to review articles, it’s possible that Google’s core update impacted how it evaluates review content, especially regarding trustworthiness and originality.

Alot of my medium articles got deindexed all of them are AI written. These updates are dealing with site reputation abuse aka parasite seo

I think updating your articles will help you index them better.

because of AI, your articles are de-indexed, you need to write yourself and only use it as an AI assistant
