Hi guys,

I got a website which hosts user generated books. Every chapter of a book has it's own page and book might habe 1000 chapters.

Right now I have almost 10k pages, whereby most of those pages are chapters.

I noticed that google unindexed 8.5k pages and when I manually check the url I see that a lot of them are unindex with a processing error. Furtheremore, the google traffic is also not growing.

Would it make sense if I noindex my chapters for google bot ( bing is fine )? Could this boost my main book pages?

As the November Google update is currently rolling out and affecting many sites, I would suggest being patient and waiting until the update is fully completed. It seems like this could be a Google error, but it’s unclear what exactly Google’s priorities will be in 2024. Let’s see how things settle after the update.

You might be right.
This whole situation just makes me depressed. My website is almost 7 months old with thousands of pages of real content, but google still doesn't care about it and even deindexed thousands of pages in the last 2 months.

Unlike Google, Bing is doing quite well and Bing traffic is growing, but Bing is too small, and their user base is too old :\
