I have a better use of this than doing podcasts - thanks for bringing it to my knowledge op.
What are you going to use it for?I have a better use of this than doing podcasts - thanks for bringing it to my knowledge op.
Amazing guide. I put 10 videos from my favorite marketer in there and started asking it questions related to my business. So much better then anything Chat GPT has ever given me.
This is crazy, thank you for this.
Let me know when your signature changes. to what you have brewing.. Would be interested in any AI offers if they can improve my specific business.

Very helpful post indeed. Thank you for this!Hello,
In this thread, I am going to talk about NotebookLM or more specifically NotebookLM.google - most of you must be aware of it, so I thought I'd announce it before.
Before anything else, checkout this AI Podcast video about BHW
This took me all of 6 minutes to make - from the time I generated the audio to uploading it to Youtube.
Imagine what can be done with an hour on this and some AI Generated characters.
Don't miss the part where they talk about me, aka your friendly, neighborhood BlogPro!
So... What is NotebookLM?
It's a tool by Google, that let's you manage your personal customised AI - with Gemini 1.5 powering it in the backend.
Think of like training it on very niche data with upto 50 sources (Huge Docs, Youtube Videos, Ebooks, Even websites)
Once it has absorbed your information, it is ready to answer any and every question about this.
I have been using it extensively in the past few days to absorb information through a variety of sources and then refer to that information as and when I need.
What I have used it for?
Knowledge Farm / Learning
I am so far removed from the Guru or Buy Sell Methods Bullshit, that the thought of reading and ebook makes me want to throw up in my mouth. But every once in a while, a publication is worth it all. Especially those that introduce you to topics. Then you have some excellent videos on Youtube or even articles that take a deep dive on topics.
For instance, SMM/Instagram, Performance Marketing and eCommerce. Three things, I have really paid attention to, in order to grow and improve my own skillset, for the past year. I created three notebooks and uploaded all the ebooks, videos, articles I could get my hands on.
Now I have personal coaches for these topics. Whom I refer to from time to time. Even the most generic questions are answered in excruciating detail.
We all know, bookmarking/saving articles and videos seldom works. There is no way we can recall that one video we saved when we need it.
Courses
As someone with ADHD, I cannot sit through hours of fluff when the course provider puts up 40 videos of him randomly talking about stuff just to justify their abysmal price. I have successfully used this to create a Notebook that can extract key information that I can refer to on an as needed basis.
Competitor Research
All I did was plug in the SpaceX Store URL and this is what it came up with. This is a pretty cool overview of their Branding and Product Strategy.

It is also able to give you a list of products they sell and more.
You can add upto 50 of your competitors in one go! And then use this to gather information on them all. Average pricing, what they are doing in common, strategy, what products on the homepage etc. etc.
Podcasts
You can use it to generate cute podcast videos about websites, current affairs and more. You already saw an example above. You can even customise them to your liking. I'll talk about it below.
How to use it?
1. Simply headover to https://notebooklm.google.com/ and click on "Create"
2. Gather a list of your "sources"
View attachment 392039
You can add link to Google Docs or Slides
You can add Website URLs (Homepage, or link to specific news stories - trending ones for example)
You can add your own text blocks.
You can upload your own audio files.
You can upload PDFs
3. Once you are done uploading, you are ready to go.
You can begin asking questions. You can generate a podcast. You can ask it to write articles for you.
Think of it like your extra brain. Someone you can refer to for very specific information on a ton of topics, each segregated carefully.
Extremely useful.
(Method) Make Trending Podcasts in Minutes
Let's talk about what can be done with Podcasts.
Step 1 - Let's go to Google Trends - https://trends.google.com/
Step 2 - Let's go to the "Trending Now" tab
From here, I saw that the Australian PM's name was trending for some reason - Anthony Albanese
A little further exploration tells me that it's because he has proposed banning social media for kids under 16. Big deal world over.
Step 3 - So now that we know, I quickly went to Google News and grabbed 10 odd news articles and a few Youtube videos talking about the topic and added them as sources to my Notebook
Step 4 - Now, let's click on "Notebook Guide" - a small info box rises up. Look at the top right for audio, and click customise. Here give it key points to talk about, mention something, name it, give it an intro etc.

Once you're happy. Click Generate.
Step 5 - Now you have the audio of your podcast. You can now go to something like veed.io (paid tool) to generate a full video, or use something like Canva or an SRT generator and your own editing to create a video.
Here I created this in 15 mins. Basically, used Veed.io, then cropped it and added a background in Canva. Would've happily subscribed, but Veed is being a bitch and not accepting my card.
Additionally, you can have even use third party AI tools to change voices and make it better. Add some background music and do whatever else you want.
Hope this is helpful to some of you.
Cheers
I suspected that something like this must have existed. But I didn't think it was that easy! This is very interesting and useful, thoughts are already floating about how to apply it better))Developing a wrapper for the Open NotebookLM is not that complicated.

All very nice, but from a purely practical point of view, what exactly can it be used for to make money?
