I know backlinks are very important especially if you have backlinks with great authority. However, I think niche is also very important for us to be able to rank 1 in general keywords. Do you know what kind of niche domain combination is suitable for being able to rank in a general keyword?

Niche domain with high topical trust flow in a relevant category on majestic like health for wellness is ideal for ranking in general keywords.

I think your question is too broad. You should give us 1 or 2 keywords you want to rank. For example for pest control and disinfections which is my business a good niche combination should be getting backlinks from chemical sites that sell disinfectants.

Absolutely! High-quality, relevant backlinks are essential for good SEO. But you're right choosing the right niche for your domain is just as important, especially if you want to rank for highly competitive or broad keywords. Majestic’s metrics, particularly the Topical Trust Flow (TTF), can really help you understand how well your site fits within specific niches.

Majestic's stats are only useful for checking backlinks and to assess how topically-relevant a website is, they have no impact on rankings.

And google has no favorite niche + domain combo, they'll rank whoever gives them more money
