Hi everyone from the forum i would like to know what's the difference between 301 redirect or merging multiple websites into one? And which is best for seo? How long both take to start showing results?

They are two parts of the same process.

First you merge content then you redirect one of them to another.

Suppose you merge Site A (10 pages) with Site B (20 pages)

Merged site now has 30 pages.

Now it's upto you if you want to merge A into B or B into A, because that will decide which way you'll 301 redirect.

301 Redirects: Start seeing results in 1-3 months after the redirects are in place.

Merging Multiple Websites: Full results may take 3-6 months or longer, depending on the complexity and how search engines adapt to the changes.

Request "Change of address" in side GSC.
Both domains need to be in the same GSC.
It will transfer the authority - almost everything.
And then 301 :)

Use merging for stronger, unified authority over time and 301 redirects for quicker link equity transfer.

Using a 301 redirect can yield better results by passing link equity to the new URL. You can also easily index the redirected page in Google Search Console.

For 301 redirect, how many domains can i redirect to a single domain?

Can i redirect the whole content immediately or should i do it slowly?

According to me , 301 redirection is the shortcut way for the quick results. If you merge the multiple sites into single it takes little time to get results but it would be potential growth.
thank you
