How to use proxies with Telegram accounts?

When I'll log in to Telegram, I will log in from my country with my real IP. And I'm supposed changed proxy also in Telegram settings. The proxies are supposed to be done without Telegram knowledge to mimic that the proxy I'm using is a real user from real location, so something doesn't add up here

I'm struggling to understand how it works, because this way it's like saying "Hey, I'm using a VPN!" to Telegram, because I add a proxy in the settings, so Telegram knows I'm using proxies.

So my question is, to people who are using proxies for Telegram accounts - how do you do it, so that proxies work in the way they intend to work? Without revealing your real IP to Telegram. So basically we gotta somehow log in with the proxies already setup, instead of first logging in - then setting up in the settings, as it reveals our real IP and notifies Telegram of proxy use.

P.S
Dear admin/s - I feel like this thread belongs to general social chat and not 'proxies' - I tried getting an answer there with different post, but people who have knowledge about proxies - not necessary have knowledge on how to execute them in every possible setting. Here for example there is an issue specifically related to Telegram, and one needs to know the workarounds of this app to be able to answer this question, hence why I posted it in here

Hello. You may set up a proxy connection on the device from which you are going to log into your account. Then all your traffic will be hidden under a proxy, without the need to configure a proxy directly in the Telegram.
You can also log into your account through the web version of Telegram using any anti-detection browser with a proxy, then the invisibility will be even better.

That is a good idea - and so I did that. Silly me thought this was over but no. Not at all. Now I'm trying to log in with the residential proxy to Telegram and the app is "Connecting..." on loop and cannot connect. I've checked the proxy multiple times - it works normally with browser, anything else. Just Telegram has to bitch around as always.

Proxy should be such a simple and straightforward thing and I'm fucking hanging out dry with this shit for days, eh. Thank you for your answer tho, at least I'm a tiny step closer, although the problem seems never-ending

you'll need to set up the proxy before logging into TG. Instead of logging in first and then adding the proxy in settings, use a TG client that allows you to configure proxies at startup, or connect through a VPN/proxy at the system level. This way, all telegram traffic including your login attempt, is routed through the proxy, keeping your real IP hidden from TG from the start

As in the previous comment - already solved it by setting up system-wide proxy in my Windows settings. The issue is that the Telegram is connecting on loop. Telegram default proxy settings are to just use the system proxies (so exactly where I set it up) but yeah, doesn't work. Connection loop.

Setting proxies via TG client at any point is not a good idea. Same what I've wrote couple messages ago, it's like telling Telegram "Hey, I'm using proxies, just know this is not a real user!", so nothing gets hidden. It needs to be setup system-wide, but eh..the loop goes on, as TG doesn't want to accept the proxies that are setup in the system..

Have you changed / added / tested other proxies??

I generally don't have luck I guess for proxies providers.

First I tried proxycake (he's from BHW btw.) Their proxy (bought just 1) does not work at all anywhere. They keep claiming it does, I'm showing it doesn't, pages are not loading nothing. Messages on and off. Ask for a refund in the end as days are running by and proxy still doesn't work, not sure if I'll even get it.

2nd - webshare. These one work - but only for browser, they don't work for Telegram. They claim to have proxies that work for both HTTP and SOCK5,meaning 1 proxy that works for both, but idk, on the dashboard it's 100% HTTP requests and 0 socks5, so that may be the issue, idk... but yeah, I think trying more providers is I guess the best option for now. Thank you, will try it out and test more

P.S for webshare I tested all proxies I've bought (4 in total for testing), none of them work with Telegram.

Idk I think I'm doing something wrong on my part.

I now have 3 proxies from 3 completely different providers. ChatGPT is giving me so mixed answers I better stop listening to it, it's pissing me off.

I now have bought SPECIFICALLY SOCKS5 proxies, not both HTTP and SOCKS5 from 1 proxy. Setting up in Windows settings -> doesn't work on any browser. Tried using a program for routing proxies, same result. ChatGPT says Windows proxy settings don't support SOCKS5. Well - nordVPN article says it does. Articles say Chrome & Firefox support SOCKS5 as well, but 2/3 SOCKS5 proxies I have does not work for browser.
The one that does work for browser - does not work for Telegram.

I don't even need it for browser, but I have no other option to test whether they work or not. Pulling my hair out for the 999th time, I swear I'm going mad with this (meaning crazy)....

To use proxies with Telegram, go to Settings > Data and Storage > Proxy Settings, and enter the proxy details (IP, port). For multiple accounts, use separate proxies or proxy management tools for better anonymity.
