Hi guys! Recently I started to manage Meta/Google Ads and now I have new potential client who want to run ads for product which can be illegal. I'm a little bit afraid to do this, although I don't run ads from my own ads accounts and don't spend money from my card for any client, for bh customers we used rented ads accounts with payment method connected. Because of this situation I have two questions which concern me, I didn't find any answers here:
1. Which risks&responsibilities takes person who manages ads with illegal content / for illigal product? Which possible punishment by law can be for this in 1st/2nd world country?
2. Also when thinking about this I had another question, which can actually be with any customer and you as targeting ads manager can even don't know about it. Which risks&responsibilities takes person who manages ads for business that acts illegal (makes fraud/scam/lies to customer/etc)? And how to save yourself from such customers? How to check that they're true?
I am waiting for answers from experienced targeting ads managers and thank you guys upfront.

The main risk comes from your local regulatory agency, such as false advertising, exaggeration, ... but there is no risk from Facebook, I have not encountered any case of being prosecuted by Facebook.

You can turn on the page like button in the settings section, here you will have many options such as sending messages, calls, ... you can customize a lot of things for your page

Advertising illegal products or services can lead to legal liability. In many countries, you can be fined or even sued if your ads are related to illegal content. This is a matter of law for each country, with the maximum penalty being imprisonment.
In addition, advertising platforms such as Meta and Google can cancel your advertising account and ban you from advertising on their platforms if you violate their policies.

If it is something illegal shit, I suggest you study it further. You might get away with it though if you are smart enough like renting ads from anonymous source but if you don't have the balls to do it, just don't do it. That kind of game are for serious scammers.

I think you should hire an advertising agency to help you avoid breaking the law. In many countries, the handling is still not strict.

Have you tried hiring an agency? They will support and minimize risks for you.

in my experience there is no risk at all, if your account is disabled you can create or buy a new account, this will be much more cost effective than paying full price to fb

If you are afraid of breaking the law, find an account leasing agent who will help you handle all problems without having to worry.

Why don't you try hiring other suppliers? You will become the middleman and it will be better for you. No need to worry about the risk

Making money is great, man, but we need to respect the law

The risk comes mainly from your local regulator, but there is no risk from Facebook

Platforms like Meta and Google have strict policies. If you’re linked to an illegal product ad campaign, your business accounts, as well as any future ones, could face permanent bans, impacting your ability to manage ads for other clients.

Research the product before starting a campaign. Advertising illegal products or services can result in fines or even imprisonment, depending on the level of legal prosecution in each country. Additionally, platforms may permanently ban you from advertising on their platform. If you don't have enough courage, don't do it

Illegal products are different from products that violate meta or google standards. If it violates standards, I have not encountered any cases related to the law. If it is illegal, you should review and think before accepting, because all platforms have cybersecurity agencies to check, and they know how you operate
