Hello, I am currently having the issue that name changes for Facebook pages are not possible. Some agencies have told me that it is apparently a bug which Facebook is fixing at the moment.

Does anyone have the same issue or can elaborate more on this topic?

Hi! It seems like you're encountering a common issue with Facebook page name changes. If agencies are suggesting that it's a bug, it's possible that Facebook is indeed experiencing technical difficulties or undergoing updates that are temporarily affecting this feature.

Here’s what you can do:

  1. Check Facebook's Help Center: Look for any announcements or updates regarding this issue. Facebook often provides information on known issues and their resolution status.
  2. Try Alternative Methods: If possible, try accessing the name change option from a different browser or device, or clear your cache and cookies to see if that resolves the problem.
  3. Contact Facebook Support: Reach out to Facebook's support team for more detailed assistance. They can provide specific guidance or confirm if this is a widespread issue.
It's a good idea to keep an eye on Facebook's official channels for updates. Many users have faced similar issues, and these kinds of bugs are usually resolved by Facebook’s technical team in a reasonable timeframe.

After 60 days you can change your name.

Thank you ChatGPT.

After 60 days you can change your name.
Yes I know about that 60 days lock. This was not the case for the pages I have tried to change the name.

The error message was: “There are limits on this page. You cannot take actions while those limits are in place”

Then you should contact with support. I hope you will get solution.

There are some fan pages that can be renamed normally, there are some pages that may be due to an error or may have just changed their name so you cannot change it right away.

I’m having the same issue with changing names on Facebook pages. A few agencies mentioned it could be a bug that Facebook is working on fixing. It seems like a lot of people are facing this problem right now. If anyone has more details or a solution, I'd love to hear it!

You must be new, you will have to wait 60 days to change your name again.

You have to wait a while, at least two months.

You have to wait a long time to change your name.

Again, this is not the problem. I am aware of the 60 days lock after changing the name once. The pages in question (I have tried almost 10 different pages today) are not falling under the 60 day category. All of them didnt have any name changes for at least the past 60 days.

I'm also in the same situation as you. Maybe it's Facebook's policy

The issue of not being able to change the name of Facebook pages can be due to a number of different reasons, and it is true that sometimes Facebook may experience problems or make updates that affect this functionality. Here are some steps you can try to resolve or fix this issue:

Check Notifications and Updates: Sometimes, Facebook may post notifications about technical issues or maintenance on their support page. Check the Facebook Help Center page to see if there are any notifications about name changes.

Verify Administrative Rights: Make sure you have full administrative rights on the page you are trying to change the name of. Only administrators of the page can make changes to the name of the page.

Check Name Change Rules: Facebook has specific rules about changing the name of a page. The new name of the page must comply with Facebook's policies. Review these rules to make sure the name you want to change does not violate them.

Clear Cache and Cookies: Sometimes technical issues can be resolved by clearing your browser's cache and cookies. Try this and then try renaming the page again.

Try a Different Browser or Device: Sometimes issues can be related to the browser or device you are using. Try using a different browser or device to see if you can make changes.

Contact Facebook Support: If the above steps do not help resolve the issue, you can contact Facebook's support team. They may be able to provide more information or resolve any technical issues you are experiencing.

Second ChatGPT reply in this thread.

How many pages did you try to change the names?
If it's only one, then this response from Facebook is an indication that the problem is specific to that particular page.

I tried on almost 10 different pages today, all of them from different sources and agencies - same issue everywhere.

Okay
Never had such issues in the past. So maybe this could be a temporary issues.

This is what the agencies are claiming it to be "facebook is currently fixing this issue". But tbh I think they are just saying whatever to make the client happy. I was able to find this regarding that issue:

Common Reasons Your Page May Be Taken Down or Have Limits Placed On It

• Not all admins of your Page have authentic profiles: Creating an additional profile to impersonate goes against our Community Standards. Make sure all admins of your Page represent themselves authentically with the profiles they create.

People who manage your Page have acted against our Community Standards: Facebook is a place where people connect with each other using their authentic identities. Profiles that don’t follow our Community Standards or go against our Terms of Service may be removed from Facebook. Make sure you only add admins that you know and trust to manage your Page. Regularly check to see all the Pages you manage and remove yourself from any Pages you no longer actively manage. You can also check all of the people who have access to your Page by going to your Page Settings and clicking New Pages Experience, then Page access.

• Your Page has a misleading name: Facebook limits a Page's ability to make a significant change to its name that might cause people to feel misled. If you need to change your Page's name, make sure it accurately reflects your Page. Learn more about what's allowed.

• Your Page posts content that may mislead people who like or follow your Page: In line with our commitment to authenticity, we don't allow people to artificially boost the popularity of content, or engage in behaviors that go against our Community Standards. This includes misleading people about their identity, and who or what the profile or page represents.

• The content posted on your Page goes against our hate speech policies: Hate speech isn't allowed on Facebook because it creates an environment of intimidation and exclusion, and in some cases may promote real-world violence. We define hate speech as a direct attack on people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religious affiliation, sexual orientation, caste, sex, gender, gender identity and disease or disability. Learn more about our hate speech policy.

• Your Page has severely or repeatedly violated our Ads Policies: Our Ads Policies provide guidance on what types of content is allowed in an ad. If you severely or repeatedly violate these policies, we may disable your ad account and take down your Page. If you believe this was a mistake, you can appeal the decision through the Policy Disabled Ad Account Help form or through Ads Manager. Learn more about our Ads Policies.

Seems like a lot of users are having this issue now - lets hope that this is only a temporary bug on facebooks side (i kinda doubt it though tbh, it seems like facebook is catching up to all the multi account usage since they were also suspending many account due to that in the past weeks).
