[Journey] Building an iOS & Android App Empire

1. Yes, I do. Its soft paywall.
2. I use RevenueCat. Can also do A/B tests there. These days not really A/B testing, but I will start soon. Superwall is great as well I heard.
3. Yes, I use Appsflyer, but for iOS its kinda difficult and not accurate I think. So I removed it in a few apps. Once I contacted Appsflyer because I had problems with Google Ads (it was never showing accurate data) and they didn't reply. I think with iOS its really difficult since the 14.5 update.
4. I added a free trial before, but 95% of the users would cancel just right away. Literally make the free trial and within the next minute cancel. So now I don't offer a free trial. Instead I added a credits system to some of my apps, where they have free tries and they are being shown rewarded ads. So in this way I still make money and they still can test the app. The free trial stuff can be really useful, if you have any app that helps users long term. For example, pregnancy tracker, diet tracker, and so on. But if you have a practical app, that users just need for 1-2 days or just wanna get something done, they will cancel right away.
Thank you for the reply!
1. Have you tested with a hard paywall? Remote config the close button via Firebase so you can switch between soft and hard. I heard that a hard paywall can increase conversions but you need a soft paywall to get your app approved hence the remote config part. I'm using Superwall with RevenueCat so I can have best of both worlds. Superwall has great templates and very customizable.
3. Which part of Appsflyer did you have issues with? Was it the tracking of Google Ads conversions? Did you try other ad platforms with it too like FB, IG, Tik Tok? Any alternative to AppsFlyer or you've just kind of given up on trying to track conversions and such?
4. I see what you mean. My app is more of a long term help kind of app and I'd be charging a yearly subscription. I'd of course be trying a lot of different things once I launch.
5. For google ads, do you do any specific keyword targeting? Or just let Google do it's thing for your app? I feel like with UAC campaigns, there isn't really a good way to tweak things and you don't have too many options.
6. Do you mostly target 1st tier countries for your ads? If not, do you have your ads in other languages to target some European countries (non-English)?
7. For the rewarded ads, is it worth it for you in terms of revenue? Or its just a way to get something rather than nothing. I'm assuming the credits may also cost you money maybe from an API or backend so you'd rather recoup something than nothing.
8. Have you tried keyword installs for your apps to see if they would rank higher for certain keywords? What tool do you use for your keyword research?

I was just about to finish the eBook when I thought to myself: "Why not create an example app and record the entire process?" So in the following days I will create the app and record everything, building an app from zero only with ChatGPT.

August update please :weep::weep:

I will do it once Apple gives me the data for yesterday and the day before, so I can know the full revenue for August

Great approach! Focusing on quality and doing things the right way will set you apart.

What ebook?
The one you said you will do? About creating apps with chatgpt etc?

How much it will cost?
Any approx date when it will be ready?

Is there any info how to search niches in 2024?
Or you still just replicate existing apps and bank hard thanks to paid ads?

It seems impossible to get any traffic to new apps in appstore without paid ads.

Yes, actually I wanted to finish months ago. I took me months to write it because I kept working on my apps and wanted to make sure I include the best possible data and so on.

The price? Maybe $149 which is absolutely nothing considering you could make this just within a few days after publishing apps. Also, I spent so many hours writing it and also will record video.

Then also, I plan to offer an addition. I have around 50 mobile app templates. Unity games, Flutter apps, Native iOS and Android apps. If you count Unity and Flutter for 2 (because you can publish on iOS and Android) its around 70-80 apps in total. All apps/games I purchased in the past with a total value of maybe $2.5k. I think this would help people a lot to start their own journey

Yes, basically I write down my entire method. from finding niches to keyword research to planning the app to creating the app to ASO, etc.

No offense but why 99% of people struggle to get any traffic or downloads to their new apps on appstore then?
1-6 months, 2-3 downloads, no sales. Nothing.

I have no idea what magic luck you have that you are so successful.
I guess you are the 1% of the successful people on appstore.

I bought Mac for making apps but I havent been lucky at all.
And I read many people struggle, i read lots of reddit groups and telegram groups. People are not getting anything.

Because they don't target the right keywords. Some keywords and niches have too much competition. Or maybe the app/niche is not in demand anymore. And they perhaps don't know all the ASO tricks. I have published apps that made me $400-500 within the first 5 days I published them without spending any money.

What will be the differences from the first book? Is the information in the first book no longer relevant?

First ebook still relevant, but the first ebook had also a large focus on Google Play, Google Play developer account, how to avoid bans, and so on. New ebook has its primary focus on iOS apps and basically my entire method/strategy I use

I read Nakamura's ebook) and it was good.

nakamura
when will the new one be released?

P.S if you could provide guides how to code on IOS that would be good too))

Got it.
For owners of the first book, the discount for the second one would be very nice :p

Its not only keywords...creating app is the easy part...the most difficult thing is marketing...one needs to have lots of money for ads, promotion etc. The competition is intense. To give an idea about competition, roughly 1500 apps are uploaded to appstore daily...and there are about 300 apps for each keyword already out there.

It really depends on the niche + the 1500 apps uploaded daily are mostly absolutely shit. I would say 95% is crap. I talk about this stuff too in my new ebook.

Thank you. Yes, I will make videos and show it from the very beginning.

Waiting for the eBook with the cash in hand.

Am ready to put the work in.

Guys, about the videos for the new ebook. I already recorded like 1-2 hours material and I just noticed how much of editing and especially cutting it would require.

What I mean by this: Almost every aspect, beginning from creating the project, choosing developer team, bundle id, team ID, etc. would leak private information about me or the developer account. Not only this, but also API keys and other sensitive keys for Admob, RevenueCat, Firebase, and so on. I think 99% of you are good guys and just wanna earn money, but there is a risk that there is just one malicious guy (who is jealous, hates me or just wanna earn money in a very evil but easy way) who is going to blackmail me for money or wreck my developer, admob account, etc.. It has happened to me before and it wasnt a pleasure to deal with. I am not a teacher or something, my primarily goal is to grow the app business by myself. Selling courses or ebooks is not my main business (and thats also why it took so incredibly long, its simply not so important to me, i am earning way more money by making apps).

So the editing/censoring/cutting would not only be crazy, but it would also be extremely time consuming. As I wrote above in another post: I usually make the pricing in a way that is according to the time I spent. And if I spent 100 hours recording and editing a video, the price would go from $150 to $999 because in these 100 hours I could easily create 2-3 apps. So I think i will abandon this idea for now until I find a better solution.

But to not piss you off complete, I will just make a video how to use ChatGPT for iOS coding instead, so everyone can use it no matter what niche it is. And also without leaking any of my sensitive information as well...and also it will not take me 100 hours, and the price can be the same.
