how can I withdraw USDT ??

So, if you've ever withdrawn USDT from your wallet application (on your smartphone) can you please answer these questions:

1. do I need an account with any of those networks (Binance for example since this is - apparently - what my father's wallet is asking me to use), or can I withdraw the USDT directly to my bank account without needing an account with those websites like Binance? If I can do it without a Binance account, can you please guide me on how to do it? Or at least give some important tips that would help me complete the process fast and without hassles.

I am from Romania by the way, so I will need to withdraw this money into a Romanian bank account

2, If an account with Binance is needed, can we withdraw the money fast and clean, or will it take weeks / months of warming the account up, building up credibility, etc?

3. Are there any limits on the amount of USDT that can be withdrawn per day / week / month / year? I will check Binance's website for answers to all of these questions, but given the state of affairs with the big companies nowadays I am finding it harder each day to trust these crooks, that's why your personal experience is more important to me than what their sales and marketing teams wrote on their websites.

4. Regarding the KYC, which documents do I need at any step of the process (creating Binance account, converting USDT into cash, withdrawing the cash)?

4. Last but not least, are there other (non-obvious but dangerous) things I should be wary of with this industry? My entire involvement with the crypto industry had been a loss of 100 Euros in a scam about 2 years ago, and since then I've been staying away from this industry without regret. Unfortunately, this is not possible this time around as I'm doing this on the behalf of my father's because he is even more clueless about crypto than me, and it's a long and ugly story on how he got pulled into crypto, so please don't ask! All I know is that the person who handled all of his transactions is gone missing (what a shock, huh?) and now I have to do this myself...

Anyway, which things should I be wary of / concerned about before withdrawing this money? Thanks!
1. I used Binance when I withdraw ridiculously large sums, the only exchanger i personally trust in managing huge sums.

2. It is near instant, but can vary by your own bank's transfer times. I personally never waited longer than a few minutes to see it on my bank balance.

3. Yes there is withdrawl limited based on your own binance account https://www.binance.com/en/support/...-btc-to-busd-df68592bc7ea420eb0b9d188d8f440bc
You should also see your own personal limit in profile https://www.binance.com/en/my/settings/profile

4. https://www.binance.com/en/support/...ification-for-a-personal-account-360027287111
Basically, a live picture of you, address, and ID

5. If you do it directly through Binance Withdrawl, you have very little to be worried about
However, if you do it via Binance P2P for "better rates". there is potential scams out there..
Also, depending on which exchanger you KYC, there is always potential leaks and what not. Only KYC on exchangers you trust.
Further, Regarding fees and tax and what not.. Depending on your own local laws, gov can always force an exchanger to provide them any details on you..
Also, the moment your money hit your bank account.. Once again, depends on local law.. gov can also see that money.. hence tax once again.

To minimize crypto tax, you should honestly see a specialized crypto tax accountant on the best way to move your crypto assets

If it is a huge amount, don't deposit all of it to a brand new exchange account. There is a chance they might lock it for "money laundering" reason.
agreed! But how do I know how much is too much? That's what I'm trying to figure out :p

Also, I am not sure that I understand these terms... Like, for example, when you say "exchange" are you referring to wallets (because I think some / all wallets can convert the currencies themselves), or are you talking about sites like Binance?

By the way, I just noticed that my father's wallet has an icon that looks like Coinbase's icon, but when I go into the wallet and try to withdraw the USDT it says that the current balance of USDT needs to be transferred to a BNB account first which, from my understanding, belongs to Binance.

Should this be a reason for concern? Like, is it normal for a site like Coinbase to urge you to create an account with a competitor in order to get your money out of their wallet? This is the stuff that scares me...

1. how much is "ridiculously large sums" if I may ask? No offense towards you, I'm only trying to figure out how to split the money...

2. I like that :)

3. that's what I wanted to know, cheers!

4. "live picture" as in actual image, or is it recording ourselves holding our IDs by our heads?

5. just as I feared... Oh well, one way or another we need to get this money out before some "authority" feels it belongs to them, so I guess I'll make some compromises (while having a serious discussion with my father about getting into stuff he can't control)

I feel that I can do this without their help, especially with such helpful people around here :)

I am refereeing to centralized exchange like Binance.

For a new account, id say
100k is too much. 20k is not too much. (i get these numbers by reading different posts on r/binance subreddit).

It seems like your USDT is on BNB chain. So you have to make sure when you send it to a an exchange you select the BNB chain (not eth, sol etc). Otherwise you will lose the funds.

see? That's why I asked, I felt in my guts that something's not right, which is why I asked all of those questions.... Crypto is such a quicksand of smoke and mirrors, I genuinely can't understand why people put up with this scam...

Anyway, thanks for the heads-up! I am so glad that I've asked about these things.... Cheers, man!

1. $xxx,xxx USD amounts
I started with $xx,xxx before doing $xxx, xxx for obvious warming up reasons lol
4. Video camera, so it will activate your camera on your phone/webcam, and it takes a pic from there
It was just taking a pic of your face only.
Then just a standard pic of your ID iirc

obvious only if you know them, otherwise (if you're a dense brick like me), they're not so obvious :p

Send like 20 dollars to your exchange account first.

See if it arrives before sending large amounts.

this should be the default way of sending to any exchange or seller if possible
Test it out first
Considering some people can't copy paste properly or just copy paste wrong addys

Regarding step 4, how can I be sure that I'll receive the money?? Once I click "send" the crypto is gone, and getting the cash is pure luck

Thanks for the tips, though!

Never heard of paxful, but I'll look into it.... Cheers!

where can I find a direct seller if you don't mind me asking? Thanks for the tip!
direct seller like moonpay . there must be some one who will do for your country

hi again everyone...

After toying with the options in the wallet last night I've noticed that I can't do anything (swap, buy, send, none of these options works) with the USDT within until I connect the Coinbase wallet to the Coinbase website which I can't do because - apparently - my father doesn't have the email, or the password of the Coinbase website account of, nor is there any option to create new account (at least I'm not seeing it)... so now I'm clueless what to do...

So now I'm wondering... is it true to say that this money is forever lost? Do you guys (@MrDenz @xReminisce Deleted member 923340) happen to know this, or have any option of recovering this money? Normally, I wouldn't stress about it, but for us it's a decent amount of money that\s worth at least trying to get out... at least part of it if all is not possible...

Sorry to hear that, I hate when that happens.

The only thing that I can suggest is to contact Binance (or is $ on Coinbase?) customer support, if I remember they have the account recovery option but there you'll need to give some solid info so they can work it out.

I will have to read it all to understand the situation, anyway, if you have access to Binance, you should be able to transfer that money to any other wallet, it doesn't need to be Coinbase, that is why I said Paxful yesterday.

Yes, Paxful is full of scammers but, you are not releasing money until you get paid, simple as that, and of course, you have the option to choose from 100s of people, at least 10 are trustworthy with 1000s of positive feedback, real feedbacks.

Let me know if I'm wrong about Binance/Coinbase and where you have it at this moment, I might be able to help you out.

I was using anycoindirect before, but recently just receive on binance, convert to EUR - withdraw to bank

I think my father's wallet is Coinbase because it's a blue circle with a white circle within the blue circle and I looked this icon up on the internet and apparently it belongs to Coinbase.

Furthermore, when I try to swap the USDT for other coin it ask me to connect the wallet to Coinbase website, so I assume that it's Coinbase

will consider it eventually. Anything that can turn this virtual fake money into real cash I'll gladly accept at this point :)

the wallet is definitely Coinbase (especially since it asks me to connect to Coinbase website), but I don't know what the deal with the network is...

I don't understand this, but it's probably because my head hurts from all of this confusion, I'll re-read it later....

Anyway, I'm on PM-ing with someone at the moment who offered to help me. Hopefully we make this work.... I'll update you with the progress once we figure out what the problem is. Thanks for the tips :)

p2p on binance is the best way,you can get good rates.stay way from paxful, its full of scammers

Don't use Coinbase but if you can access the wallet, there shouldn't be a reason why you cant access the keys of it.
I just created a coinbase wallet that is connected to it and it gave me the private keys

The wallet allows you to export anything resembling the following
"Recovery Phrase"
"Secret Key"
"Private Key"
"Seed"
if so, export it (DO NOT SHARE WITH ANYONE) and export it to an wallet like metamask instead.

Does your wallet look something like this?

my father's out of city for 1 week so I can't access his phone anymore to check all of these, but when he gets back I'll check and let you know.

But from what I remember everything is pretty much the same, except for a few minor differences, like for example the fonts in which the tooltips / errors are displayed are brutalist, very hard to read (they're basically black fonts with darkish grey, bolded outline and on black background. Makes them really hard to read, even with glasses on (well, I always wear glasses so no shock here) I still have to squirm and stare for 5-10 seconds in order to figure out the words lol

Another difference (which actually worries me) is that - after having PM'd with another forum member (whom I shall not name for privacy reasons, of course) - for the entire day yesterday, he told me that the app my father's using could be scam because the outer blue circle (of the icon of the Coinbase wallet app) is not a perfect circle like in your screenshot, but rather an almost perfect circle.... actually, here's a screenshot that I took yesterday to show to the other person:

528773.jpg

As you can see. the icon of the Wallet app is not exactly like the one in your image, very easy to scam newbies with and my father is even more newbie than me and I am the newbiest newbie that's ever existed.... well, you get the idea :)

Anyway, the 3rd thing that makes me wonder whether our wallet is legit and whether we actually have that USDT inside of it is the fact that our main currency (RON since we are Romanians) shows 0, which would not be a problem since we probably don't have RON deposited in there (if that's even possible), but the thing that raises suspicions is that the USDT shows up beneath the main currency instead of being displayed as the main currency. And - as usual - the USDT is displayed in the same bolded, brutalist, hard to read font as well. Luckily, numbers are easier to read, especially since the font is bigger than the font of tooltips / errors, so I could see the amount of USDT, but like I said, it's not displayed in the spotlight like in your screenshot, but rather beneath the spotlight, in lower fonts, while the spotlight is taken by the main currency... or maybe it's not the main currency.... actually, wait, I might be wrong! I think it does say USDT both in the main spot as well as beneath the main spot, but the main spot is used to type the amount of USDT you wish to handle.... yeah, that's actually what it looks like. I still have to double check when I get my hands on his phone again, but I am like 95% sure that this is how it looks like.

So yeah, based on these 3 differences I have a suspicion that the person who had gotten father into this had used a fake / scammy / replica wallet that is similar to the real one enough to fool newbies. I could still be wrong (and I hope that I am because we really want to get that money out), but for now this is where I stand....

Plus the fact that when I tried to connect the wallet to Coinbase website (as instructed by the app when I tried to either swap or buy a different crypto) I was only presented with an email field so I could log in, but there was no way (at least I don't remember) to create a new account. Maybe I'm too paranoid but shouldn't all login pages also have a button / link for creating new account? I don't know, maybe I'm reading too much into this, but like I said, after having chatted with the other person yesterday I got paranoid :p

if so, export it (DO NOT SHARE WITH ANYONE) and export it to an wallet like metamask instead.
oh yea, I do remember to having created a Metamask wallet many moons ago... I wonder what's happened to it, or if I still have it... Good tip, I'll have to dig up into my saved files to see where I've saved the password / keys / whatever for that thing...

But the question still remains I think: how can I transfer to Metamask if any option that I choose (swap, buy, send) ends up in either an error or in a non-interactable message?? Like, for example, I tried yesterday to send this money to somewhere else but after I had selected the amount that I wanted to send (I chose any amount between 1 USDT and 250 USDT, randomly and multiple times and none worked) and I clicked on "next" I either got prompted with a message like "there is not enough eligibility for this asset pair. Please try again later", or "you need RON 0.10 in BNB on BNB (Binance Smart) Chain to cover the network fees".

I would get these 2 messages (one of them when I tried to swap the USDT into a different crypto and the other one when I wanted to send the crypto to somewhere else) but - like I said - I couldn't do anything else after I was showed these errors, simply because there was no button or other interactable elements to... well... interact with :)

I would have happily paid the measly RON 0.10 fees, but there simply was no way to pay them because there was no button anywhere, once I got any of those 2 error messages it was dead end....

But of course that I could receive money into the wallet (or at least I think it went into the wallet because otherwise I've not seen that money deposited in there, I only received the notification that the transaction was successful and that's all of the evidence that I have that the money was sent. But where it's deposited I don't know cause I've not seen any BNB / RON amount inside of that wallet...

Technically, all crypto in a wallet is tied to wallet ID and not to an "exchanger" and as long as you have the private keys or recovery keys
you can open it at nearly any wallet of your choosing.
Think of this as an email & using an email client via IMAP/SMTP
Wallets are technically "email clients".

Most exchangers don't actually let you see those recovery / private / seed keys like Binance for example hence why it's locked onto the exchanger's wallet.
& that's why we always recommend never to leave lump sums of crypto in exchangers when you are not using it.
Since, there no way to really recover them if you lose access to your account.

While a wallet on the other hand, doesn't matter if you delete the wallet, if the wallet no longer gets updated and is inaccessible or any other reason, as long as you have your private keys, you can just export it to any other functional wallet and use all the features on that wallet like send/exchange/receive.

Hi,

My father asked me to withdrawn his USDT to a bank account, but the last (and only) time I've done a crypto transaction I ended up paying over 40% in commissions, taxes, fees, and other scammy terms invented by the financial mafia, and I'd like to avoid this experience this time, especially since 1) this is not my money and 2) it's a decent amount of money by our standards, and we wouldn't want to waste it all on commissions, taxes, fees, etc...

That is no indication of a scam whatsoever.
It is just the icon style that your OS uses.

I don't know which member said that, but that is just idiotic to scare someone like that just based on icon styling.

but the thing that raises suspicions is that the USDT shows up beneath the main currency instead of being displayed as the main currency

That is normal.

Wallets support/track just so many prices of different coins.
It would be extremely expensive and hard to implement a system that tracks all the real-time prices of all crypto coins that there are.
It just happens that Coinbase Wallet that you are using, doesn't apparently track the prices of USDT (at least on the network that you're using).
Can't track price ==> can't show the value of those coins in the 'Main Currency' tab.

Plus the fact that when I tried to connect the wallet to Coinbase website (as instructed by the app when I tried to either swap or buy a different crypto)
You shouldn't need to connect the wallet to Coinbase in any way.

Coinbase wallet is self-custody, and shouldn't need anything connected or whatever.

All crypto transactions require you to pay a transaction fee.

USDT is a token that lives inside numerous different networks. Your USDT seems to be in the Binance Smart Chain as a BEP20 token. That just means that the transaction fees will be in BNB.

You need some BNB tokens in your wallet to do anything with your USDT. Without any BNB there, you can't do anything with your tokens.
