Hello

I'm doing Ecommerce and I heard from someone that there is a method for lowering your chargeback rate.

The method would be:

Get multiple (100-1000) debit cards with low balances on them and make a purchase on your website, the fake purchases will be mixed up with your real ones and the chargeback rate will go down significantly.

Is someone familiar with this method and if yes, where did you find the cards?

If anyone else knows the way to get multiple cards with low balances please reply.
Thanks!

That's a really interesting idea. I think you'd be better served figuring out a way to lower your chargeback rate in a more longterm way though.

many banks allow you to create Virtual cards, mine allows upto 5/day.
contact your bank for this.

Sounds like a very interesting idea. However, it would require thousands of cards issued in different people's names. If all the cards have the same issuer, I would think the payment processor might catch on to what you're doing.

It would wok if you have access to tons of cards with unique names and you are willing to pay for those fees...besides, the payment processor will see that real people with higher chargeback rate has an average price per purchase much higher compared to your fake transactions

You can use Wise for this, we use similar strategies for tinder:

We put fake names and the correct credit card details, the payments never bounce. You can load 5$ on a wise account and get 3 VCCs per day. You can alternitively use revolut business for unlimited VCCs, bottom line is, you can use a fake name and make the transaction go through, as long as the VCC details match.

Yes, this could be quite a big problem, as with the more expensive product payments are only made with official cards and with the cheaper product most of the payments are made with vcc's.

Thank you so much! Would go tried.

But you probably need a new proxy or user agent for each card used. As far as I know, card payment processors have access to this data.

yes, we have advanced setups for tinder to do this, such as spoofing all device id (doing it on iOS) + proxies + location change, i dont think basic approach would work or you would get flagged/declined transactions (assuming)

Certain banks can do this for you. All you have to do is ask.

That may work if you are selling low ticket products
I don't see payment processors ignoring $200 chargebacks because your chargeback rate for $2 purchases is 0%

In general I know that payment processors want you to have less than 1% of chargeback payments.

Is a similar percentage calculated on the total amount collected monthly? Like having no more than 5% chargebacks in usd?

Not sure how exactly it works or if it has an exactly percentage, but if this kind of account trigger a human manual review, it won't last long...if there is this percentage of the total revenue, then it will automatically raise a red flag

Also i think not using vcc same provider cause if its stripe i think they will know all 1000 vcc you used are from same provider and this can end your account easy

Have you tested so far? Have you found a solution?

This won't help reduce the score. The score rate is calculated not only by the number of payments but also by their amounts. You can write to me in DM, and I'll send you a PDF file that illustrates this clearly. Alternatively, I can share it here in the thread if it's allowed.
