Thank you. That was kind of my thought also. Although the releasable card does have my name on the from. It’s just a prepaid Visa card in the end. Seems like a safe place to get paid to protect my money while I ultimately try and work something out with the agency in the end. I’m honestly thankful for Texas laws. All my items are protected. And pay cannot be garnished from employer, but bank can be frozen. So I’m im trying to protect my money at that point. Then once the creditor realizes they can’t get anything, I’m hoping they will accept a payment plan ‍

Yes I’m in the USA. Texas to be exact and our laws are very protective of people. I don’t own a home or anything they could even come after if they wanted to….. but what is the general though PayPal does on amounts of this size? Please and thank you.

In Europe they can do nothing, except sending some debt agency(without any privileges), you can tell them to fc%@
In the USA they can charge your bank account and send real executioners.

Suck for you to live in the USA, I think they have more control over this kind of situation there. If here, they probably just wait for a while before closing the account entirely to cover tracks of that negative balance.

I cannot understand what happened tho, how do you refund them with having no balance in either your PayPal account or credit/debit card? We cannot issue refund until negative balance in the first place. Unless it was a dispute/chargeback.

I am sure life happens, but shouldn’t you have insured your goods? Especially if it’s high-ticket items like this. It just does not make sense. If your profit margin is good and your buy cost is good, isn’t it make more sense to just buy again the items ordered and issue a delay in delivery instead of refunding everyone ultimately losing your buy cost + potential profit?

Also what happened to the damaged goods now? Are they completely worthless now? Can it be somehow repaired or returned to your seller for a replacement? Or at least a small compensation to help you with your PayPal issue.

It has been 4 months since this happened, a lot of things could have been done during this time, did you make any progress at all?

To have your account in debt can harm you longterm. For example banks are less likely to hand out loans. And you eventually get noted as insolvent.
So be careful with this. Only way out is stacking the money I believe. Had the same issue when a client scammed me for €2k right before christmas.
I had to walk through several calls with paypal and got refunded 200€... haha. SOOO in the end PayPal's advice was to deposit the money asap, yap lol.

I’m just gonna update time to time. No contact yet still. Best I can tell I withdrew the funds in March 2022. The chargebacks put the account in negative between April and May. Last time I was allowed to login was June 2022. So it’s coming up close to two years now. ‍
