Reddit mass removing comment links today?

I am using Twitter. So just did research, some of the comments are still there, and some have been removed( all of my comments with upvotes) Made some new comments with Twitter links, and all comments with upvotes got removed, but those which was not upvoted are still there. Very interesting, so far hard to understand whats excatly works and what not

Ive gotten a lot of comments removed that never were upvoted (alot of them can't even be upvoted even if i wanted cause they are "new") so its more then just upvotes

Same, I posted some comments yesterday using a newish account and the comments with google redirects were immediately shadowbanned.

I also posted some other comments yesterday with links to a regular website URL and they were not immediately shadowbanned. However, those comments with links to a regular website URL were removed today and the entire account is now shadowbanned

Part of it could be that I used a relatively new account. My guess is they are not looking at things in isolation. Mutliple factors being take into account by this new algo.

There is no way anyone should share any successes publicly on here. This thread blew up and is already giving Reddit way too much info on how we're thinking about this.

Any successes we have 100% should not be shared in public.

For the failures, they've already incorporated them into the algo, hence why we failed, so I'm not as concerned with those being shared.

A good idea to get this locked though, in case someone shouts a proverbial "eureka" in here and alerts Reddit/Google on what they need to tweak at their end to close it off.

the fact the google think didn't work for you guys proves that reddit is reading this cause it worked for me I even upvoted dozens of them and they are all there days later so they must have clamped down the filter after that for anyone doing it going forward. or maybe you used the wrong domain. I never said i was using google.cz i said there is many google domains to use and I didnt think anyone would be stupid enough to use the one I posted here publicly. This is why this thread needs to be closed

Links sometime just get auto removed now, they sometime do it at random, I just approve them and their back again, some link you can't even approve anymore for example some vpn link and gamble links.

I think the biggest problem is probably not gonna be reddit itself, but affiliate competitor taking over popular sub and modding normally, then allowing their own affiliate links on post that ranks well.

For example I managed to take over a very popular sub that used to have a lot of affiliate links on popular post, not anymore, the only affiliate links now there is mine, none of them have been removed by the updates, seems like if the sub is popular and organic, reddit will turn a blind eye to it.

Also, Reddit has also made comment disappear very quickly if someone starts reporting it, this is how I mainly discover links from my competitor, two affiliates reporting each other affiliate links comment, which ends up on top of my mod queu, I end up removing them both...

you are right though stealth affiliate marketers covertly now taking over subs is a recent development.

Unrelated domains, unrelated accounts. Various proxies.

The common theme for me is using upvote shop.

It will happen now because Google is now collaborating with Reddit to train Gemini with Reddit data.

I believe it sitewide, most of the account that get caught with the same affiliate link, tend to get suspended after I remove most of them.

I think reddit have given certain mod a boost on the Contributor Quality Score filter. You can google reddit CQS filter.

But if you're a mod you can see there are 3 buttons every time someone comment or post on your sub. [approve], [remove], [spam].

Every time a mod press that spam button, it contributes to the reddit filter, so the mods are essentially the one training the spam filter.

Ok but i hired an outside company to create 10,000 domains for me(i doubt many here can afford a 200,000 investment for that and other stuff). It hasn't affected me yet cause even if i got blocked 10 times a day id still have thousands surplus lol but i pity the small guys. google would love to train their spam filters on what I do but i threw out the google idea as a honeypot (you guys are suckers and that should be enough to get this thread closed lol) and unfortunately now you guys that took that as bait will now be royally fucked as you just flagged your accounts and trained their data. I only used it on throwaway accounts as a test and didn't even do it the same way i normally do it so there will be no tracks. I never do my tests the same way as my "normal" way

yeah I been thinking bout it for awhile cause i saw what was going on the last few months and now especially after this update which took me back alot.

i dont see how reddit can survive if all the major subreddits (and even the small ones) eventaully get coopted by affiliate marketers protecting their links? lol

I suggest you and everyone else quit at this point. Its only gonna get worse reddit wants to get rid of all spamming as they started making things harder around spring of 2023 and really increased it started last fall and then this latest change was the biggest jump yet.
