Why These Websites Rank?

Hi SEO Experts, hope all are doing well. I have been working in the online gaming niche for many years. My main website was badly affected by the November HCU update and I am currently getting less than 50% traffic than what I was getting before. I used AI to generate the description of the games. This is what I think was the reason for affecting my website.

Now I found that after the update Google is ranking micro EMD websites for different high search volume keywords. Most of those EMD websites are outranking the old high-authority websites for different keywords.

These are the things I found on those websites:

- Most of those micro websites are very new ( some are 2-3 months old).

- Websites are building spammy backlinks (1k to 2k root domain backlinks) to the homepage only anchoring their EMD keywords.

- Most websites are using only AI content on their game pages.

- All of the websites have a simple and similar type of design.

- Not Good page speed score and their overall SEO stats are not good.

The reward they are getting from Google:

- Most websites are ranked #1 in Google for their main keyword. (Outranking the authority websites)

- Most of the websites are ranking on the 1st page for other highly searched keywords.

- Interestingly, most of the websites got Google review-rating snippets displayed on SERP, which I have not been able to achieve on my website till now. Not my website only, there are other good websites in my niche for which Google is not showing review-rating snippets on SERP.

- There is a website that is only 2 months older, ranking #1 on Google for the main keyword and also outranking other high authority websites for some other keywords.

Google's latest update to reward only branded and high-authority websites, if so then why those garbage types of websites are flooding all around? Let's have a healthy discussion over here regarding this topic by experts. I will not share the website URLs here, I will DM directly if someone wants to analyze the websites.

What all these other "garbage types of websites are flooding all around?" have what you dont have?

(here is your answer: "All of the websites have a simple and similar type of design". Study the website structure and the menu stucture from these website's and compare it with yours.

Are the websites you're referring to linking to each others thought a side menu by any chance?

I noticed most of the websites are managed by a single entity - all the website's structures are the same and websites are linking each other.

These micro websites are ranking well after an update is because of temporary loopholes and once the update is settled, these website's will loose ranking may be or maybe not. Also it's not a uncommon for a google to rank micro emd sites.

Micro emd websites rank good that I know, but the websites I am referring to are getting extra ordinary boost for keywords. There are 2 type of micro sites, sites that are managing by the single entity (the website which have similar structure) got extra level of search boosts, other micro emd sites are only ranking on the first page for the main targeted keywords only. They have created bunch of emd sites on different micro but high searched keywords and ranking #1 for almost all keywords. Other emds ranking below them.

Google's new update seems to be favoring spammy, new websites with exact match domains, even though they have low-quality content and questionable backlinks. It's puzzling because Google typically rewards established, trustworthy sites.

I was doing only whitehat SEO in my career, so did not study much about blackhat techniques. After studying some threads in BHW I am now assuming that those sites are bumping up by blackhat techniques. But still need to learn more things to understand their exact strategy.

There really is no white or black hat anymore

They've completely fked up all SEO so whatever works, do it

If you play "by their rules" you're just gonna be buying ads

Ofc i personally using gsa ser for my projects and i own handful micro autobloggs and ecom for decades. I also own xrummer smd yes its possible with xrummer new update as they insert braod engines like articles etc. but still i use gsa for those as its super easy and versatile
