I think it's easier for people to click 'Like' instead 'Become a Fan' althought it does not change anything.
Now people can see how many friends of them like the page, which will lead them to click 'Like' as well.


Why this is "the end" ? As far as I am aware, we still have the publishing option ?

I totaly agree. It's easier to "like".

Think about this guys,

Let Say Person A likes a new page.

Person B (who is friend a Person A), see on his news feed that Person A liked a page.

Maybe if Person B, like the event on his news feed, it will automaticaly add him to the person who like the Page.

Anyone get what I mean?

i saw that change on fan pages and my first impressions are:
positivebviously more people would click "like" than the became a fan button..
negative:1)for adding friends from big fan pages using any tool facewizard,blaster pro and collecting id's now with this change it's impossible..
2)if someone click "like" on your page then he is not notified with status updates of your page..
3)no mass messages to fans..
4)its more difficult for a fan page to go viral,because if i click "like" on a page non of my friends will see that i liked that..in the past if i click "became a fan"for a page all my friends will see that on their home page...
i m missing something else?

By the way, "Fan Page" doesnt exist anymore.

They are now called "Community pages".

I saw an article that said more people click "Like" on facebook than anything else, so to be honest this seems like a GOOD change! It's only a bit of text changed at the end of the day.. nothing to crap your pants over. :]

It's still streamed in the news feed. Now it say's: user likes page - instead of: user became fan of page

What about if you like that event in the news feed, will you "join" the persons who liked the page too?

people chill with all these assumptions, test it out and post once you are sure, don`t spread rumors, one basic thing: they will never make so many changes overnight as their system is defined by these options, bottom line is they just replaced "become a fan" with "like" which was already there; they announced this change quite a while ago and explained that people click "like" button twice as often as anything else on fb; right now i think its a good thing, as far as i can tell all other options are still there for the moment, the system is the same, changes will occur everyday on fb and in life, to achieve success just adapt and move on, cheers

Yeah, I just noticed it on mine pages.
I don't see the reason of that change, it probably won't change anything.

We'll see, it looks to me that we'll see more fans now. At least, until people don't find it's same as "become a fan"

Has anyone got some new page invite ? How it look in that part ? What words they use ?

may be a temporary glitch as their servers are overwhelmed, "like" will win, you can bet on it
