[Journey] 0 - 1m subscribers on YouTube

Hi there

I'm a 21 year old who has been in the e-com/crypto space for 6 years and looking to branch out into YouTube. I've been studying filmaking and video editing since the age of 16 and have decided that it's time to put all of this accumalated knowledge into something real. My issue has always been consistency as well as the fear of others judgement which is partially the reason why I've made this thread to hold myself accountable. I am estimating at least 1m subs within 2 years if I keep producing content at a consistent rate and stick to my schedule.

- The channel won't be faceless/ai. It will be a real channel with all of my personal branding.
- I will use YouTube Shorts as well as tiktok to promote the main channel.
- I will stick to a consistent upload schedule of 1 video every 2 weeks.

Ideally I would want to do well thought out and well produced short film type content but I have decided to go into the omegle niche for the initial few videos due to the viral potential and the ability to consistently produce them.

Amazing quality dude. Do you mind sharing your stats like CTR, impressions and average view duration? I have a shorts channel as a side hobby and best i got is almost 10k views per short several times but its really nothing and now my channel is almost dead, even though my schedule is consistent (i guess youtube algorithms gave up on me).

Why not the channel in crypto niche itself?

It's not something I'm particularly interested in and it will be harder to garner an audience from scratch. I know the CPM would be way better than the omegle / entertainer niche but long term I just don't see myself in the finance niche for now.

The harsh truth is the algorithm is there to give the viewer what they want. So if you make good content and stick with it, eventually it will get picked up by the algorithm. Whether it takes a year or 2 for it to get picked up is irrelevant.

I think the focus for the first 100 videos should be to make the best possible content and ignore all the numbers because if it's truly unique and well made interesting content, it will eventually get pushed. It takes one video to blow for your whole life to change.

what you do in ecom/crypto?

Affiliate marketing ecommerce using google shopping ads and cloakers.

It was blackhat so it was back in the days where google wasn't as strict as it is right now. I had multiple ads accounts with trial balances running the campaigns and used anti fingerprint browsers on each to evade google's tracking.

It was also in the most unsaturated country ever so it was very easy to do compared to USA & Europe. I invested all of the profits of that business into crypto.

Yeah I actually knew that adding that would cause viewer retention to drop because
it wasn't relevant to the title or thumbnail but I really wanted to include some cinematography regardless.

Moving forward I won't include it unless it's relevant to the title & thumbnail.
It's a shame that the global attention span has deteriorated so much that you can't even include this or you'll lose the viewer.

Nice average duration, mine are rarely getting over 30s for long vids.

True, but you can always trick the algorithm to get to the top faster. Know a dude who does this and after few month he already has over 50k subs with a niche content. You'll still need high quality content people would watch though.
