How to Create a Post

If you've got something that you'd like to add to an existing thread, you're going to need to know how to create a post.

Scroll down to the bottom of any page of the thread you'd like to respond to. You'll see a text editor:

You will see the prompt text 'Write your reply...' to show you where you should type your message (hint: it's the big empty box).

When you've typed your reply, read it over again and made sure you are happy with it, then click 'Post reply' and it will be added to the very end of the thread.

Are you referring to the marketplace seller membership level? If you bought that, you'd have the ability to start a marketplace thread. Keep in mind that a listing still costs $30 upon approval.

Hello, I am still confused what makes a message, thread and post different from each other? and which among those is considered one of the criteria's for a member's upgrade. Thanks a bunch.

  • A "message", as in the message count on your profile, is the combined number of posts and threads you have on the forum (excluding the lounge).
  • A "post" includes both the starting post of a topic and the subsequent responses, if any.
  • A "thread" is a collection of posts.

Awesome thanks so much for this explanation, it is much clearer now. So my next question, which amongst those is counted as part of my posts for me to be considered a newbie+? Thanks again

You should be a Newbie+ already since you have fifteen posts but it can take some time for the status to update.

Hi everyone, I asked this in another thread but I would like to get more insights about this:
I know posting links to your own product unless you are a paid member is a big no-no.
Now, what if for example, one of the members asks for a product or a website that could help them with a certain thing they are working on?
Can anyone suggest how a member can respond without having to seem like they are advertising a website or product?

Genuine suggestions are easy to spot. They are relevant and based on personal experience. It happens rarely ever for members to mention the same site more than once in say 100-200 posts. Then you have the people who go around and try to find and respond to really old threads just so they can plug their self promo. You get the idea :)
