I am having the same problem and no i am not closing the update box just the main SB box...

Last 2 updates its having problems... Windows 7 64 bit...

"Cannot rename scrapebox.exe to scrapebox.bak" but actually it does rename it, it just doesn't create a new scrapebox.exe... also it tries to sometimes rename it to scrapebox.exe.bak ...

So my only solution has been to rename scrapebox.bak back to .exe....

Also the crashdump logger won't update everytime i try it says the file is in use... and it won't let me uninstall it either

What version of SB are you trying to update?
The message you mentioned is not from the new, but from the old version of the updater.

The new update utility does not rename scrapebox.exe, but create a copy of it. It also does not delete scrapebox.exe. This is the behavior of the old outdated update utility.

Try to delete ANY executable file you see inside your ScrapeBox folder, except scrapebox.exe. Download the update, then manually extract the file sbupdate.exe from the scrapebox.zip archive into the ScrapeBox folder and run it.

Strange word instance.

I believe what the author was trying to say was something like ' I now replaced all references to the websites (in the footprint) with "testdomain.com".'

If you are just looking to use the list for the rapid indexer it doesn't matter what the author meant to say as he has already done this for you in building the list of 33K sites.

I mean, ya, it checks how many internal and external links a list of sites has, but I can't remove any sites (I want to remove the ones with lots of outgoing links).

What's the point of the addon then?

Maybe you have not updated the addon yet?
The current version (1.0.0.6) allows to remove sites with more or equal xxx external links.

I know this question/problem is not as high priority as the new update issues but I am trying to work with Blog Engine blogs for the first time and I am getting a wicked high fail rate. It goes right into the slow commenter and I have auto captcha along with paid proxies so I am not really sure what I am doing wrong.

When someone gets a free sec can you point me in the right direction?

Blogengine can only be commented to with slow poster, so its working correctly. As for the fail rate, you can try turning slow poster accurate mode on/off to mess with success rate. Play around, blog engine is a bit of a different animal.

I'm not sure if this is an error, or just a normal bug, but I tested the WordPress poster on my blog, and the first post didn't include the URL when posting a comment, then I recommented, then it posted the URL in the post this time. I have 2 URL's in the "Websites.txt" list, and I know there isn't a blank website line, so why does it happen?

I mean from a technical point of view the app has not crashed...it isn't doing much of anything you want, but its process is not frozen up in its namespace.

Ok, if its better for you ... are the words "not working" better for your feeling ?

Its now the 9th time that the program stoped on different sites, with different webseites and i can do the full commeting (i don't like to spam on the same sites again).
If i close now, SB only remember the full harvesterurls and the proxies, not the "stop".

OK, deleted scrapebox.bak. scrapebox.upd and sbupdate.exe. Unzipped scrapebox.zip. Current version dates are now scrapebox.exe 14/04/10 and sbupdate.exe 03/04/10. Exactly the same process happening when opening the program - "Can't rename.." etc.

Edit: OK, downloaded the very, very latest version off the site. Unzipped it and yay, I've got a working version, 1.14.5, with an sbupdate.exe date of 15/04/10. Immediately I saw there was another update - to 1.14.7 - and updated to that. When opening that I got a "Can't backup scrapebox.exe" error message but the program did start and had updated to the latest version.

Whatever's been done to the updater does not seem to be a step forward but scarebox itself is once again as brilliant as ever.

Can you try disabling your AV and see if it changes? For me 320k takes about 7 seconds to import, and about 10 seconds for the harvesting to start. This can't really be made faster, because the limitation is simply with Windows and the time it takes to populate the memo then grid. But if yours is taking an hour, something is not right possibly your AV scanning it on import or your system has low specs and is being maxed out.

So i got the crashdump log to work finally and when the program crashed it saved the URLS but i still dont know why its crashing to begin with.

I turned off my AV and tried to load the list of 310K keyword list and so far 45 minutes ive been waiting and still hasnt started harvesting yet.

I send you logs every time it crashes so hope you can look them over.

Any ideas are greatly appreciated.

Yep, and the animal that is BlogEngine turned rabid after it was updated last month. It's a bitch to work with these days.

When you updated all addons, they are for your AV all new executable code with a new checksum. Maybe your AV suspended them. McAfee or Norton I guess?

No, i also have this problem sometimes.

At first (with Win 7 64 bit) it helps, if you always start SB as Administrator.
2nd: wait 1 minute, if the SB start, then click Addon, wait, click your addon and WAIT (sometimes 1 minute)

On the prob you're having with the add-ons that is weird, I've not seen or heard of that. Is it possible you have another instance of sbox running with an add-on open? I"ve seen the different instances trying to spawn multiple add-on windows sorta collide with each other in the past.

I checked and there were no other instances running.

This is really weird. Never had this happen before :/
