There has been a lot of discussions about proxies here (on bhw, in various sbox threads, and in this very thread). Please please please review those - especially the proxy info in this thread if sbox is your primary concern - then if you have questions or want more information come back and ask.

Little question:

At the moment i make comments , WP and since ~ 1 hour the program is freeze (means, nothing is doing, the time counter is running).
Now, if i close the SB process, the SB didn't know, at wich position it stands for the commenting, or?

Total guesses here - shakes magic 8 ball - signs point to:

1 - install latest version into new folder and start app from there
2 - run ccleaner on your system, clean everything (it's a crapshoot but has helped some people)
3 - do that voodoo someone else posted here about rolling your mouse around over the menus and stuff while sbox is "chilling out" and see if that is like a digital cup of coffee for the app

If the timer is running the app isn't hung, so...

Plus I really liked his description of the problem seen for solution #3 above - app doesn't crash, throw error messages, just sort of seems to "chill out" for awhile...like hours.

Update Problem:

After downloading the updates, a pop up saying click the button "run updates", and if i run the updates, another box opening and says close all the instances of scrapebox to run the updates.

If i exit the dialog box, update is not happening and if i try to update scrapebox manually using sbupdate in the scrapebox folder, i am getting error says " unable to rename scrapebox.exe to scrapebox.bak".

Kindly help me to update my scrapebox.

I found the new updater a bit confusing myself at first, perhaps because I was taking a lot of pain pills at the time I ran it lol.

But seriously, here's the deal - you click the button to run updates, then apply the update, and when that dialog box appears telling you to close all instances of scrapebox, close scrapebox - the main window - not the updater window. Then it should work and ask you if you want to restart sbox with your sparkly new version.

I dont know but it seems to me that the unblock-feature doesnt work for free proxies. Everytime I try it the proxies are unblocked but after retesting every of these proxies is blocked again. So no advantage.
And it seems not to work for the own ip. If it would it would be fine. Together with decaptcher probably the own ip could be used to scrape the whole net. Maybe...

So, when you get this message, exit ANY ScrapeBox you have running at that moment,
do NOT click the Exit button of the Update Utility, because it will quit the update.
The update utility will automatically continue as soon you have quit all running ScrapeBox instances.
As long ScrapeBox is still running, you cannot update it.

exactly what i am doing, but its says "cannot rename scrapebox.exe to scrapebox.bat, it deletes the exe, then tries to rename something that is not there.

Are you sure you are using the right update utility?
There's no message "Cannot rename scrapebox.exe to scrapebox.bak", this was the old update utility.
The Update Utility which is included in the last couple of SB versions does not delete the .exe, nor does it rename it.

hm very weird, ill try again in a bit sending a blast and using indexer atm im still new with sb so im probably stupid and screwing something up somehow, i don't really even need the update yet anyways. ill stop adding junk to this thread now.

Aha! what I have been doing is clicking the exit button, closing SB and then double clicking 'sbupdate' in the scrapebox folder.

This then updates SB and asks if to run the updated scrapebox now.

Gonna give your method a go next time.

I think we have all been clicking the exit button on the updater. It is because the updater normally pops up OVER the main Scrapebox window and it looks like you are supposed to close the updater and then Scrapebox (but this will not work). Until I realised earlier today I had been running the update manually from the Scrapebox directory. Simply close the main Scrapebox window BEHIND the updater and all should be fine.

I am actually having a hard time working with Blog Engine blogs. I upload my list, comments, emails, etc and then hit start and it takes me to the slow commenter but then every one of the comes up as failed. Is there something I am doing wrong?

PROBLEM WITH SCRAPER

I loaded up my keyword list which contains 310K words

Then hit scrape

It took 1 hour for the harvestor to start the scraping and then an hour into the scraping i got to about 1.3Million URLS and the program crashed. This is the 4th time this happened to me. I need an answer to this.

I also had the Enable Crash Dump Logging on and it did not recover any URLS i was harvesting.

NEED HELP PLEASE!!!!!
