Hi Friends,

I have a 5-year-old YouTube channel, Initially, I used to publish 5-6 videos monthly but for the past two years, I have only uploaded 1 or 2 videos at a gap of 2-3 months and sometimes 5 months. My views have relatively dropped as compared to previous years but still, I am getting the following stats while publishing only 1 video every two or three months.

Total Views per month: 230K
Total Minutes Watched: 676K
Total Subscribers Gained: 1,260
Total Adsense Earnings: $99 - $100
Niche: Indian Films Based

Now my question is Should I work continuously on this channel or would it be dead after some time if I completely stop posting videos on it?

You already build a good channel so why not continue? :) I would give it a try

I've done youtube for awhile, you should still continue with this channel.

Maybe just less posting, less time and investment or maybe try new strategy.

Youtube channels can go viral or relevant at any time, just make sure your content is evergreen from now on.

The fact that you are still getting views and subscribers means the channel is still very relevant.

Channel is not dead and start from scratch will take some time and you might not want to continue since you won't see results, you still have really good traffic, continue with the same channel, try to upload a few shorts to get more discoverability.

It's great that your YouTube channel has been able to maintain some level of engagement and income despite reducing your video uploads. Whether you should continue working on the channel or let it go depends on your goals and interests. Here are a few factors to consider:

Audience Retention: The fact that you're still getting views, watch time, and new subscribers with only occasional uploads suggests that there's an audience interested in your content. However, you'll want to monitor your audience retention. If people are still engaging with your content even with infrequent uploads, that's a positive sign.

Revenue: While your AdSense earnings are not substantial, they are still coming in. If this income is meaningful to you, continuing with the channel may be worth it. Keep in mind that your earnings could decrease if you stop posting altogether.

Passion and Interest: If you're no longer passionate about creating content for your channel and it's become more of a burden, that might be a sign to reconsider. Content creation is often most successful when it's driven by genuine interest and enthusiasm.

Time and Resources: Evaluate the time and resources required to produce videos. If you're finding it hard to maintain consistency due to other commitments or a lack of motivation, it may be time to make a decision.

Long-Term Goals: Consider your long-term goals. If you see this channel as a part of your online presence and have plans for it in the future, you might want to keep it alive. If you have other projects or channels that are more promising or interesting, you could shift your focus there.

Audience Engagement: Engage with your audience through comments and social media. Ask them for feedback and input on what they'd like to see on your channel. Their responses can help guide your decisions.

Ultimately, the decision to continue or let the channel go depends on your personal circumstances and objectives. You could also experiment with different content strategies, like more consistent posting schedules, collaborations, or diversifying your content. It's worth noting that YouTube's algorithm tends to favor channels that post consistently, so increasing your video frequency might boost your channel's performance. However, quality should always be a priority over quantity.

Must continue working on the channel. It has already got kickstart, now you have to increase the earnings which can be done with good content posted regularly.

I'd keep working on it. What are you looking to achieve whether it's this channel or a new one?

CPM kinda low (probably normal for Indian traffic) but it seems like it's worth a shot if the content can be generated quickly. How may videos have you published so far on this channel?

There are 2 scenarios;-

1- In the vast majority of cases if you completely stop posting videos, YouTube isn't going to push or recommend your channel. However the 2nd case would be as follows,

2- The fact that your getting 230k views even after a gap of 2-3 months, means that the videos you have uploaded is evergreen content, and it is trending in the algo or is being searched because that particular content is interesting for viewers to watch even after years of its upload.

So the best advice we would give you is, keep posting evergreen content every 1-2 months, and post at least 2 videos a month and then you can take a pause, since these videos will be trending in the algorithm, instead of taking the risk of channel being completely inactive.

Good luck!

I have uploaded 94 videos till now.

I would like to increase my Adsense earnings that's my only goal...

I have uploaded 94 videos till now.
If I were you I'd give it a test period (say a month or two) where you blast content non-stop to see if it can eventually be scaled to your preferred views per month/revenue per month goal. You have this channel with solid numbers and since you have almost a 100 videos uploaded and 200k views you already have good insight/data on how the niche works. You have all the assets and knowledge to make this work, so why not find out if it can be done?

If you've had enough of the topic consider selling/offloading it. And move to your next venture. Some body will pay good $ , that right person.

It's good accolades to show your success, and if there's a higher valued niche that might invigorate you again you know how to get it working well.
