I will never ever work with this guy again. I was using a Wordpress theme with Demo content. The site was already majority built, I just needed him to make some changes to the site.
I paid him $200 to make the changes, $100 up front, $100 after, which is more than he charges for a website. Throughout the time, he had sloppy work to where I had to go back and correct it myself. I figured it’s only $200, so it’s to be expected and dealt with it.
About a month and we finish only the front end of the website. The website we were doing was a basic listing website, where users can come to upload their listings. He now asks for the rest of the money. I still needed him to finish things, but he would not until I paid him the rest.
Specifically what I needed done was to activate Owner users to be able to create listings. It’s a setting somewhere and should only take 5 total minutes max, but I do not have the time to find it, that’s why I paid him so I wouldn’t have to worry about it.
He then demands to pay him the rest of the money before “beginning new points”. I didn’t want to, because I figured he would stop working on my project. Which is exactly what he did. I tried telling him it’s a simple setting that needs to be enabled.
Now he is snippy and wants $50 just to enable the setting. I still have the whole backend user of the site that needs to be done and was willing to pay him extra for more work because I just need it done. But now he goes back and forth.
He also told me to leave a positive review in exchange for enabling the setting. Which I refused and told him I’d gladly pay him instead.
Overall, use him if you need some decent work that you’ll have to go over and fix. I wouldn’t have made this negative review if it wasn’t a combination of everything. Expect difficulty with communication

@Daddykins In 15 line review, you didn't say that I cheated you or took money and left the task unfinished
But your entire review and especially (9 full lines) are based on new points (which were not part of the project)
The task was completed on your server in 2 weeks and after 1 month I got the money
And thanks to accept that you held my payment (for 2 weeks) & didn't want to pay me for your new points
I was going to raise a dispute for this action (because you didn't even show up for days)

Mars delivered my ecommerce site with all of my custom requirements. Once again I'm impressed with his skills
I knew it was not an easy task, before hiring him, I also checked with a few other developers but they were not comfortable completing it within the time frame and budget I set.
He deserves 10 out of 10, I recommend it to everyone.
