I would choose Semrush because at times Ahrefs traffic gets manupulated

Each of these tools is highly regarded and popular. In terms of traffic analysis, Ahrefs may have a better solution.

Both can get manipulated. Ahrefs is currently updating their keyword search volume & traffic estimations, so as @Steptoe has said, you may want to reserve judgement until a picture is clear. You can read more here: https://ahrefs.com/blog/keyword-traffic-estimations-update/
They are making multiple changes to their UI as well as pushing their 'YEP' search engine.

Why not check Ubersuggest and few other free sites and go with whatever common number is the majority. It’s not a perfect formula but it’s as close as you can get at least that’s what I use to do

This is how I have done it in the past. It doesn't matter if a keyword has 1k traffic in one tool and 1.2k or something similar in another tool.
It's only a slightly bigger problem if the keyword has low traffic statistics or the numbers are 1k traffic in one tool and 3 or 4k in another, as an example.
