Hi guys,
I know it's a cliche topic, but I wanted to hear more from you guys. CUZ you guys are professional in SEO.
Here is the thing, I dont have much more experience for creating a blog website with wordpress from some hosting providers. I'm used to using Shopfiy platform for selling some products there.
The annual price from Shopify now is $29 per month. I know some hosting providers offer a discounted price at the first year, but the renewal fees(second year) are expensive.
In your opinion, which platform is the best choice for me now?
Really appreciate any suggestions from you guys.
Thanks in advance

You are asking multiple things here.
Cheapest blogging platform : wordpress
Cheapest ecomm : still wordpress but things gets technical for a complicated ecomm website
Shopify has no match when it comes to a complex ecomm website in terms of functionality, ease of use, speed but there is cost for each.

Okay, thanks. I mean the hosting provider

It's important also to consider where is your location of sales, because you could find a cheap hosting in East Europe, and you could be selling in USA, the latency will be really bad unnecesarily.

WordPress is the best option out there. Easy to customise, easy to use, many free plugins and theme available.

If you really7 want cheap, but still a not to bad service to start with, I'd recommend rockhoster. They start at about $3 for 5 sites I think I pay. You would need to move the site if it was resource intensive though with traffic or upgrade to a better package. But if your still business bootstrapping then worth checking out.

You can easily set up your own store using WordPress.

Install these themes/ plugins:-

1. Themify Shoppe or Elementor (wp theme)
2. Woocommerce (wp plugin)
3. Advanced shipment tracking (wp plugin)
4. PixelYourSite (wp plugin), to track your ads on FB, GA, Pinterest, TikTok, etc..
5. FluentSMTP (wp plugin), to set up SMTP for emails.
6. WPForms Lite (wp plugin), to set up contact forms.
7. Woocommerce Stripe Gateway (wp plugin), to accept payments through Google Pay, Apple Pay and Credit card payments.

Running your own multiple stores (5 to 10) will cost you only $10-12/mo, which you'll spend only on hosting costs.
So, the avg ratio is $1-2/store, which is a huge saving as compared to Shopify.

Wix and WordPress are my best choice. With wix being cheapest, it is advisable you use it when you want to setup a simple blog or landing. You may prefer WordPress to wix in terms of your desired functionality. So it all comes down to your needs, but these two are the cheapest you can ever get

Github Pages
Wordpress + hostkoala
Oracle cloud free tier
Aws free tier

All these are cheap and good for starting blogs.

Do not go with cheapest. Go with most commonly used platform which is wordpress.

The cheapest would be WordPress. Just keep an eye on your page load speed with WP. Otherwise, it'll hurt your SEO efforts, jack up your ad cost, and cause your visitors to leave after waiting 2-3 seconds for the page to load.

consider wordpress.org as is a free and open source platform that you can install your own hosting and you have fill control over your website customization and functionality
