But is it not a little bit curious that (not all) but most free wp theme coders have the same thoughts in mind: " Now we coding free themes who not have logo+site title side by side function? In my experience Astra and Generatepress are the two free wp themes I know so far, where you can easy setup logo+site title side by side.....
Where this is coming from ?

I have no idea, but the volunteers that keep updating and secure WordPress as a framework is not restricting anyone, they build the framework so that theme developers can have as much freedom to develope on the framework as possible.

And please learn to quote your answers, the members that you answer will get notified and it is easier for everyone to see who you answer. You have been here long enough to now know what standard answers should look in the forum.

yes = Squarespace more easy to use, all the things like checking every week on plugin and theme updates, you must doing backups, all that sort of tech handling is done by squarespace. You can create category pages in squarespace too.

Yesterday I worked on my wordpress site, with the cpanel installer auto update auto update for themes and plugins is installed+ backup.
And what I see in my wp admin dashboard under plugins? I must enable auto update for each theme and plugin, boooaaaahhh

and that's not a joke this auto update tool not works on all plugins and themes, some of theme you must update manual yourself, then at the end of each month you must chek them all in your wp dashboard and cleap up your database (plugin) all these things which costs your time and energy is handled by squarespace.

Downside on squarespace their video and images in their blocks are huuuuge they slap in your eyes...can not say if you can change the size of the image and video frame blocks?....

I use the generatepress theme for all my three domains it's easy to setup and the theme has the function add a logo side by side to the site title with site description below. Most other themes not have these function.
And I use elementor kit plugin (free) and the free pro-elementor plugin (the free legal version) .

This new block editor I not understand it and can not handle it, I hope wp will not replace the gutenberg editor with this weird complicated block editor, the biggest shixxt I have ever seen as a website editor.

I dont think that any CMS has a potential like WP it is huge by now and the functionality is unmatchable ! very easy to use cost friendly just like you saif , best for SEO as well
 
Personally, WordPress is overrated. Do you have to use WordPress? I think it's old and way too advanced for a simple website. There's no need for 99% of all the functionality if you just run a blog. And more complex websites usually run custom code. You should only use a few select plugins, or else you risk slowing your site down as well as leaving it vulnerable to attacks (yes, even popular plugins experience bugs every once in a while that can be exploited).

Is it the fastest to setup? Not really. If you're new to WordPress, it could take a full day to get your website up and running. Even experienced people may take a couple hours to set things up and get everything working properly. Buying the domain, registering with a host, installing WordPress, getting the theme and all the "required" plugins, changing the design, making all the pages and categories. There's a lot of work to it.

Just to be clear, I'm not affiliated with any of the following, nor do I use them today. But I have tried them all before and I actually like some of them. Wix, Squarespace, webflow and the like, are all super fast to setup. Same with Shopify if you're building an e-commerce website. They used to be really bad, nowadays they have all improved on their SEO and functionality. You might have to pay for a premium theme, unless you want to go with one of the free themes (remember, you still pay monthly for the service so nothing's really free here).

At the end of the day, it's really up to you. What are your preferences? Do you know WordPress? Do you really need all those functionalities? I personally use WordPress because I have used it for almost 20 years, but I really don't need it.
 
Creating a blog with Hugo has advantages with optimisation.
I have created several blogs with it using a custom php/asp.net cms backend.
It is like creating a static website while loading, but its CMS when adding a blog.
If you using plugins only for the optimisation WordPress blog, then this is the best solution I recommend.
 
WordPress is still the best CMS platform in the world. The primary benefit is that you can install plugins as needed.
 
Best for news organisations and content-driven websites is Drupal.
The best for online stores is Shopify.
