I bought an expired pbn that was a company's old name and domain. It's a great domain. It was 302 redirected the past couple years which made it even better because now I'm getting the traffic. Today I have a copyright claim. It's one of my better domains. Several hundred RD, da 30. Should I just let it go? Or should i start a new domain and just 301 it to the new name? Would i still have copyright issues if I 301 it to a totally different name?

could be a scare tactic by another SEO to scare you into letting the domain expire so he can snatch it. What does the claim say? And where did it come from? Did you research the copyright claimer?
Copyright claims usually mean that you can't use someone else's content, so as long as you're not using that content I think they have no rights to bother you with such claims (but I'm not sure, you need to check with a lawyer.)

The best option would be to consult a lawyer specializing in copyright law to understand the legality of the claim and your options moving forward. You could also try to negotiate with the copyright owner, but it may not be a viable solution. It's actually pretty weird. I contacted my host abuse department, which is where the claim came from. The host said it's in regard with fake about or user info. I do have three fake people as experts on the site. I also said one was a real estate agent. That's the only thing I can think of. But even that seems strange. And how would they have even come across it. Host thinks maybe someone reported it.

Im trying to understand how an insurance company, could have a claim to any copyright. Like this is a copyright claim against the domain itself? Or a DMCA for a specific piece of content?
Are there fake users that claim to be insurance company employees or something? Sorry, just trying to understand

Actually same, considering its someone who doesnt exist. My only reasonable thought would be if its a fake persona that claims to work for the entity filing the claim. But that didn't seem to be the case.
Yeah super weird. I just emailed Host again I'll see what they say. Doesn't really make sense. Even if the name is same as someone who works there, people can have the same name

Agreed. I can only see it being because of 'impersonation.' I think its likely a bullshit scare tactic. How certain are we it is this insurance company, and not some blackhat posing as them for the claim?

If they sent the complaint to your hosting company, you can simply move the website to a new one that ignore such claims,
There are plenty of sellers here in bhw and the price is pretty similar anyway,
If the case is with Google search dcma, redirecting the reported page would do the work,
Even if its the homepage, you can simply change its URL to something like website.com/homepage, make a 301 redirect and you'll be good to go

Yeah, just bypass the claim as is suggested.
It reads like a BS claim but the effort and energy that it takes to protect you is just not worth the energy when there are work arounds.
Yeah that's what I'm thinking too. It's a cheap as hell host too so they won't miss my monthly dollar.
I'm putting it offshore right now. I wonder if a better idea would just be to change the domain name and make up a new domain, then there would be no connection at all?

Host was worried and kicked me out. As above would you keep it on off shore host or should i just change domain completely and use 301?Tell them to fuck off and file WIPO dispute if they feel entitled to something. All this trademark/copyright scare is mostly just bullshit and even if push comes to shove, it's not like you will be extradited.

I would send them an email asking where they feel you are breaking their rights and if it's bullshit, tell them to file WIPO complaint. Host wise, leave a negative review and move somewhere else.
