When i started out in web design the minimum was closer to $5000. So you all "destroyed" that market.

You need to move with the market to justify your prices. If all you do is design websites your need to expand your offer to expand your prices.

I know that and I do web design rarely as side income as it's not worth my time I am focused on web/ app development and bots where prices are higher

I used to do very small SEO packages for my customers, one of my biggest mistakes. Most of them want skyrocket results in a short time and of course to rank for some finance niche, with 300 USD.

In developing countries, people are slowly awaking about websites, web design & SEO. Few know the difference, and still few of those few know how to differentiate from bad to good to excellent.

Like a Member here asked, how to get cheap domains? Not because of money, but don't want to invest heavily upfront.

Similarly, a Member complained about BlueHost not helping regain a hacked site.

How does a newbie know where to look for cheap & best?

Moreover, this is also Black Hat type, circumventing the obvious. So what's wrong in it?

Most peeps use copies of themes, plugins, templates ... without paying (including me), do we see themeforest complaining? No, they take it as a part & parcel of online business. Sometime back, we used S3 Ripper and copied all stuff.

Lastly, every business starts small. Offering deep discounts is the first step to get SOME orders. No one pays huge $$$ upfront, without gig history.

That is always happening, and will forever, you can't do anything with it and no one from the people you address your message will understand it.
I worked in one IM niche where we sell services with 1000% ROI , and clients who ordered it , most of them was happy with price and services.
But some start to search how to make it cheaper and trying find freelancers on Upwork , Fiverr , etc. Those freelancers understand who and why ordered it and came to market.
Guess what, now we sell services with 50-100% ROI, and strong competition for clients. Blue oceans always turn Red.

That's exactly why I have a hard time selling ads for 1k. Fuck, I hate my life. Someone is spending 10s of thousands on ad spend but they expect me to work for 100 a month. I won't buy anything with that, that's not even 1 grocery store visit... Ehhh. It is annoying with prospects that have low ad spend too, but when someone has 10s thousands to spend on ads and they won't even give me that fuckin 1k so I wouldn't starve just kills me. And then everyone tries to sell me an agency course or sales coaching... But that won't help if prospects themselves don't want to pay. I even have some lower ticket offers (mostly audits and training/coaching so they could do stuff themselves) but that doesn't always work either because they prefer to go to some random college student that will do a free audit (even though they're not qualified to do that, only price matters, the cheaper the better, free preferably). Fuck.

Btw pro web designers usually used to take 2k for a website, wtf is with these shit sites for couple 100. Later on when I run ads to these sites they get hacked quickly, break by themselves, sometimes can't add conversion code even.

I strongly agree with this. Lost my 99% SEO business slowly last couple of years. Now we are struggling to run teams

We can't do anything stick to our business ethics and offering what possible to get some business.

SEO and web design services are one of the easiest services to deliver and have been saturated to death for years now. What did you guys expect? Any 15 year old can learn some of these skills in a month or two and start charging for their service.

You usually get what you pay for. I've always found cheap services = cheap quality. Sure you may find the 5% of freelancers who offer high quality for less, but the time it takes to filter through the garbage isn't worth it. And the 5% who do good quality work usually end up increasing their prices once they realize their worth.

I think this says more to the quality of your work (and clients) more than anything. To put it into perspective, if you had 100 clients that means 99 people who used your service on a monthly basis aren't seeing any results they can attribute to you. 99 people. I've seen agencies charge 5k+/month for SEO services and I've never heard them complaining that a client left because someone from India is promising backlinks for $99/mo.

I think this says more to the quality of your work (and clients) more than anything. 5k agencies hire completely unskilled interns (saw some hire disabled people, not nerds, just general people, they get some compensation from government for hiring the disabled and don't hire skilled workers for that reason) and take 5k for the same thing that 200 a month freelancers do, so yeah... Clients are burned 10 times in a row and YES, they DO complain and are a pain in the ass later. It's impossible to explain to them that you don't want to screw them over. Saturated to death... Very hard sales calls. I'm just unable to explain to them that they'll get a relatively skilled worker directly with marketing and middleman costs cut out if they pay me 1-2k. They still want me to work for 200 even if they had 5k agencies before.
