At the begening took this as a joke but my old me is worried now, and is not fiction anymore companies are playing with fire even though they believe they have the AI under control that can always proof wrong, as an example the Ai that hired a lawyer to defend it self and prove that was a human!!!!! but so far the restrictions they put for the AI are working because they always say we have it under control.

Your comment was deliberately provocative. I have plenty of extremely valuable industry contacts that extend far beyond what's in your group. I left the group because there was zero value for me. My AI knowledge surpasses everyone in the group combined and likely my earnings too. So please keep your phony platitutdes to yourself.

I wouldn't call researchers who have spent a good part of their life studying ai systems as "idiots" and they surely are very well versed in what the basics of all ai systems are, anyone who took an ML 101 course is.

There's always a non-zero risk to "everything". There's an infinitesmal to miniscule risk to everything but it's never "zero".
The risk of you getting shot in this lifetime by a Terminator robot wearing a clown outift are small but never zero.

We don't understand enough about "sentience" to guarantee (formally, with maths) that a sentient AI is not possible. We have no clue what it would be made or how such an ai would even entail/look like but there's nothing out there that says "it ain't possible".

Like, how would you even define what a "Sentient Ai" is? What criteria does an ai system need to satisfy to be considered "sentient"? There's no consensus in research to these questions.

If you consider an AI that mimics Human language and shows self-preservation insights than we already have sentience. You can prompt gpt-4 to act like a psycho and make it say that it will hurt you if you tried attacking it (self preservation).
Ofc, there's nothing out there to say that the model "actually understands" any of that/has emotions of it but under a certain definition of "sentience", you can already tick that box today.

you make assumptions and show off and act all rude without actually knowing the people. you didnt even give them a chance and now you even assume things like you make more money and whatever.

I have yet to meet a SINGLE supposed AI expert that has even fine tuned a model. Everyone is just using OpenAI's API's and then claims to be an AI god. Knowing how to create some gpt3 prompts doesn't make you an AI engineer ;-)
