Congrats for the goals! I got a couple questions :
1. What is the average duration of your high performing videos?
2. Are the views you buy from panels are mentioned to be that of real people or bots?
3. What did you conclude so far as you saw what performs best?

1. It's usually around 50% give or take. I've found that the view duration doesn't matter as much as CTR for me, though.

2. The views are from bots.

3. If you are asking what videos perform best, it's probably going for high-volume search terms. Even though it is usually very competitive, if you can start ranking, you get a ton of views.

WEEK #4:

I averaged about 17.6k views a day this week. I was still testing the SMM Panel, so some views are fake. For revenue, I averaged just below 29.77/day. I'm guessing it will be over 30/day by the next update. I'm also just 8k views away from 1M views on my channel, so I'm going to hit that tomorrow, which is sick. Although the subscribers don't matter to me, as this is a search-based channel, I just passed 2.5k subs! Honestly don't even know why people subscribe to my channel, but oh well, lol.

SMM PANEL:

SO I was talking about an SMM Panel that worked well on a couple of the videos I tested it on, so I was wondering what it did to help get more views. I thought it might help rank the videos, but that isn't the case, so I'm guessing that more people click on the videos because it has more views. If people were given a choice to pick between a video with 250k views and a brand new video with 2, it's obvious which one they would choose. But if it was a brand new video with 1.5k views, I think there is a higher chance of them clicking on it. Anyway, I will test the panel a little more before I decide to stop using it.

LAST WEEK'S GOALS:

1. Upload 20 videos. Spring break is over, so it's back to school for me, so I don't have as much time.
2. Look for somebody to outsource the video creation too.
3. Test out the SMM service to see if it actually helps with ranking.

1. I did not upload 20 videos. I uploaded 16, which got pretty close to the goal.

2. I haven't even looked at my Upwork profile for the past week, so I should probably do something about that.

3. So, as I said before, it doesn't seem like it actually affects the ranking. It just makes more people click on the video.



THINGS I NEED TO WORK ON:

Actually, check my Upwork and look for people to hire. I'm also still extremely lazy, so I should probably do something about that. But at this point, I think the best thing that I can do is start uploading a ton of videos because I've gotten pretty good at SEO and finding keywords that I can rank for, so I think the most important thing is hiring someone to do the tedious work lol.

1. Find someone to outsource the video creation to.
2. Upload 15 videos

Currently, I am making everything myself, but I am planning on hiring people soon.

I choose the topics by using the YouTube search bar. I usually start with "how to" and then look at all the suggested search options. I might put a verb after like "how to choose" or something along those lines and see what the suggested search results show. Once I find a topic that looks okay, I check how much traffic there is for the topic and the ranking videos for the topic as well. If it looks too hard to rank, I'll try to niche down the search a little more, and if it still doesn't look too promising, I look for a different topic.

Vidiq would save you so much time and increase accuracy in ranking potential.
I literally just found 2 “how to” terms I’m pretty sure I can rank for. You can use the tools keyword finder to type in a search term. Then it’ll spit out 300 or so keywords, of which you can then sort starting with the lowest competitor volume. you can find keywords with very little comp that have 50-100k monthly search vol.

Also what length are the videos are you making? You say you’re pumping out 20-30 videos per week. I myself am thinking of a way to do short formulaic tutorial Videos, but i don't know how much video length could affect rannking.

All of them are long-form since shorts don't pay well at all.

Yeah, but it's a lot harder to rank for them, obviously. I do a mix because the low-volume ones will most likely rank and start bringing in couple views, and the high-volume ones might rank, but most of them fall flat. If they do rank, then it is fantastic.

If I buy views, I do it before I monetize the videos.

Yeah I use Vidiq as well but finding the search terms with the YouTube search bar usually gives better results than using only Vidiq to find them. And I try to make the length of the videos about the same as the videos that are already ranking for that search term.

MONTH #1:

So I thought having a monthly review would be cool, so I decided to do it. This is for the entire month of March.



I went from 10K views a day to 17K+ a day. I went from 200 watch hours a day to 330+ a day. Subscribers kind of stayed the same. And finally went from 14$ a day to 30$+ a day. I uploaded 42 videos this month. I also passed 1M views this month! If you guys want to know any other stats lmk.

MONTHLY GOALS:

So I think my only goal for March was to hit 25$ a day, and I achieved that . I had some other goals, but they weren't really limited to a specific month. Here are my goals for April though.

1. Upload 65 Videos. That's a little over 2 videos a day or 15 videos a week, so I can do that.
2. 45$ a day. I increased my income by 15$ a day in March, so we'll see if I can do it again.
3. Be looking for ways to increase my rankings on YouTube search.

And just a suggestion, but if you aren't setting any goals right now, then you should. You can use goals in any area of your life, so go crazy with them. You might've been able to tell, but I'm not the best at hitting my goals, but it gives me a target to aim for instead of just trying to achieve something you don't know you want to achieve, if that makes sense.

Hello guys,

I'm making this thread to look back on how far I've come and give any advice and motivation I can to you guys. This blog thing will also hopefully help me stay consistent with my goals and keep track of them.

Some context real quick. I would've liked to start dropshipping or something along those lines. However I thought it would be too much trouble for me as I am currently 16, and most selling platforms require you to be at least 18. So instead, I decided to try YouTube. I started my first channel in October of 2022. I thought about making an interesting video channel like "Daily Dose of Internet." I posted one video and switched niches. I found out that it would be quite hard to get into the niche in the first place because of how saturated it was, as well as it being questionable if I would be able to get monetized with that type of content. Also, the amount of time I spent looking for the clips was sad, to say the least lol.

I then found out about search based channels where all of your views come from search traffic instead of relying on a fanbase. I thought that would be a great type of channel to create so I started uploading "How To" videos. I was extremely motivated when I started and uploading multiple videos a day. At first the views weren't crazy, mostly because my SEO (Titles/Thumbnails/Descriptions) were trash. I saw a little success but nothing crazy; I was still happy, though. As I started researching how to get better at SEO, I discovered BHW. I learned a lot of stuff from the forums on here, which I am extremely grateful for. I improved my videos, and I started seeing more traction. More of my videos started to rank higher on search, and I started bringing in a decent amount of views.

I monetized my channel on the 15th of January 2023. I did use some panels for subscribers as they were lacking compared to my watch hours. And that brings us to the present.

Currently, I am making 13$ a day with about 10k views a day. I was making around 15$ a day for a bit, but it dropped down a bit. I have about 2000 subscribers and my channel has a little over 500k views. I am thinking about starting to outsource my work, like video creation, because I am doing all of the work right now. It takes a good amount of time to record, voiceover, edit, create thumbnails, and do SEO for a lot of videos everyday. And I don't have that much free time because I also am still in school.

I am also thinking of starting a similar channel and use the same video ideas but making it a little different because my niche is more quantity over quality lol. That's why I want to start hiring people, although I don't know how that really works. Especially if I am underage, I would appreciate it if you guys have any advice on that.


MY CURRENT GOALS:

Short term goals

1. 25$ a day by the end of March.
2. Start looking for people to outsource video creation to.
3. Create a second channel with the same idea.

Long term goals

1. Be making 50$ a day by the end of June
2. 100$ a day by September.
3. 6k/Month by the end of December 2023 (about 200$ a day)

I also want to branch out into other niches of YouTube, but right now, I don't have any capital, which is why I am working on this channel where I can do all the work for free. I'm going to be doing weekly updates probably, although I might post random updates if something big happens. If you guys have any questions put them in this thread, and don't dm me. If you guys have any advice/feedback for me or in general, I would really appreciate it .

Just read the whole thread as I just started my own faceless channel, so seriously interested.
Your progress to date is very impressive and you can be proud of your income level in such a short time even if you are a 'self confessed' lazy 'procrastinator'!

$45 a day is a really good level of income so far and a lot more than minimum wage in many parts of the world.
So, if I could mirror your results in a similar short time I would be delighted, but can only hope.
I am outsourcing everything from the start so will have little or no excuses!!!

Or do you look for static images and do like a slideshow. Also for voice do you record your own voice or do you use some AI?

So the main thing is scalability. The channel I have up right now is fantastic, and I'll probably be able to scale it to a couple hundred dollars a day. But most of the big channels in this niche don't make over 300$ a day, so I wouldn't be able to hit my goal of 15K a month. If I could with just this channel, that would be great, but it doesn't seem realistic. I started this channel mostly to get some money to start investing back into other channels with higher income scalability, if that makes sense.

If I were to make a video of how to tie a tie, I would make a real video of myself. Most people would leave the video if it were standard images or a slideshow. I use my own voice currently because its easier for me just to voice it over, and people don't exactly like the sound of an AI voice. It probably wouldn't matter if it were one of the high-quality AI, though.

Well, I haven't been using SMM panels recently because the one I was testing out was a fluke ig. And although I am growing decently just using white hat, if I had a blackhat method to rank my videos then I would use it. It would suck if I got banned but the bigger the risk the bigger the reward. Also, I don't think I would get banned from the amount of views that I did bot.

Knowing what I know now from lots of experience on YouTube, I wouldn’t even bother doing much keyword research. I’d make vids on top of any evergreen keyword I possible can and rely mostly on volume.

I know that out of every 2000-3000 videos I upload… 100 will rank on decent enough keywords to carry the entire channel to $200 to around $500 per day.

I have a channel similar in the how to niche and that’s how I built it. Pure spray and pray. Quality matters none, and it’s for the same reason it’s also hard to gain subs in the how to niche. People want a problem solved, you solve the problem, and they go about their day. They don’t care about flash or entertainment. So these videos end up being super easy to make.
