After the google spam update, rankings of one of my sites decreased dramatically for main keywords. From 1 and 2nd page to nowhere. Yes I bought paid guest posts and a PBN service (10 links) but who doesnt ? I am still trying to find what was the footprint. Yes I communicated through gmail when buying guest posts. Or I bought too many links ? (200 RD ahrefs gained during 10-11 months. , maybe building links too speedy was the footprint ?)
Anyway, its really dissapointing to know that the site to which you invested lots of money buying likks is destroyed by a single update. So now paid links are dead ? (cause these spam updates will be released every year in december) ? Or is there a safe way to do it ?
Thanks. I appreciate your replies.

I would never purchase a link from a PBN. Only actual websites that have a solid link portfolio without any risk of causing harm to my web properties. I only buy from websites that have impressive rankings and organic traffic. Google keeps updating and I keep ranking and banking.

They're not dead. The problem is you're not looking at the right factors.

You have to be very picky when buying guest posts.

1. Look at the quality of the referring domains
2. Are there link farms or PBNs linking to the site
3. Does it have natural links?
4. Does the site abuse anchor text? i.e. too many exact match anchors
5. Is the traffic + keyword growth natural or rapid?
6. does the site have good quality content
7. are they very obvious when advertising guest posting services.

all of the sites from which I bought guest posts and nihce edits were top quality, even some with millions of traffic and 70-80 DR ahrefs. And PBN was a reputable rental PBN.

PBN's can get you deindexed.

Domain rating doesn't matter bro.

You need to look at traffic -> is it dropping rapidly on Semrush or AHREFS? = Hit by Algorithm or penalty

Is it obvious they're selling links -> Do not buy link

What is their backlink profile like -> Millions of backlinks from link farm = do not buy.

Are you also in a YMYL niche?

Is it obvioous that they sell links -------- If theyre not selling links whats the point anyway? :) you need to get paid link from it.

No i am not in YMYL

Pm me your website and I could tell you whats wrong, I doubt its your backlinks though.
Can you help me? I never bought a link until January 1, 2023, my site's traffic dropped dramatically, and I did everything I could. I can't pm you because I'm not a longtime member.

You'll get there, just keep posting.

I bought 3 guest posts on fiverr on 1/1 but no change. I have disavowed most spam link on gsc this month. Impressions were then halved. I deleted that disavow file, it's been 2 weeks, no recovery at all. My site had over 20000 daily impressions before October, but currently only 400-500 daily impressions.

Theres nothing to look at, you disavowed links when you shouldn't have. I dont think you can get them back but idk how that works since I would NEVER recommend anyone to use disavow tool. You will only do damage to your website by using it.

Sadly, the more I try to fix it, the less traffic I get. What a big mistake, any links expired or unrelated to my site's theme, I disavow them. Out of desperation, I spent $400 on Google ads but things keep falling. Maybe I should just ignore it and hope it recovers. It seems that 2023 is going to be a bad year for me.

These links are still working but need to do it in a different way.

Always try to get links from those sites which have at least 1000 traffic.

please let us know what you find out. I doubt it is the links as well. Probably mostly the content is the culprit.

I did a quick analysis and he had 23k of 33k total backlinks from a really poor directory spam backlink. Didn't bother to go much further after that.

Pbn could lend into this deranking thing , check the pbns I think they are the issue moreover .
