So I've been thinking about youtube for a while now... Its been probably 3-4 years since Ive wanted to do youtube. I have a few ideas for a channel that are in popular topics but I also have a nice twist to add to them. For me to be able to pick up the camera and start making content it starts with a log/journey thread I can update myself on. This is mainly for myself, because it will keep me motivated.
The end goal is to be able to make ends meet form youtube... If I can make $5k a month that will probably conclude this journey. I have social anxiety, not sure how I would do being in front of the camera. Seems like all the huge channels have the content creators face involved. So with due time and once I see success I will def make my channel more personable to me. To jump start it im going to do some voiceover with some killer edits/production.
I have it narrowed down to 2 niches, both things I know a-lot about and I'm passionate for. Finance and Sports(Basketball/Football specifically). Maybe down the line start doing tech stuff in the finance channel. Finance doesn't get many views compared to entertainment channels. But the CPM is ridiculous, anywhere from $30-$40 CPM in finance. Sports has like $5 CPM but you can get way more views.
To start off my channel I plan on making series. I think thats the fast way to grow with a new channel. Pick a niche, then pick a specific topic and then create a series of sub topics within that main topic.
I will try my best to update this thread at least 2 times a week. Its going to be a slow thread until I start posting some content which might not be for 2-3 weeks. i want my content to be top tier. Im going to be spending minimal amounts of money. I plan on doing all the video production/voice overs.
As far as my twist goes I plan on incorporating lots of goofiness/humor in my videos.
My focus will be a high CTR and Watch Time. Those are keys for the algos to pick up on your channel. Realistically I could probably grow way faster and have alot more content if I just took already viral videos and did top 10 list or voice overs or something. But that just doesnt excite me.... I want my own content and brand. I kinda cringe when people just take andrew tate content and repost it or other viral clips and repost it... Cool your video got a bunch of views but you made no money and cant monetize it.
