Hey everyone!

The update that google published today, isn't much different from the usual "we want good stuff" update, but here is a really interesting few words:

"Google Search's helpful content system generates a signal used by our automated ranking systems to better ensure people see original, helpful content written by people, for people, in search results."

This is a direct message that AI written content isn't something google will allow to rank.

Didn't they say a couple of months ago they don't care if the content is AI or not as long as its good?

Well, seems like AI evolved faster than they thought and many content creators cried to them that they get outranked by mass produced AI content.

It happened to me to see the same thing but can't find the official source now.

not that I care about what google say, but I find it ironic how a bot craves content written by people for people. The irony is off the charts
Someone should make a website about how google crossing his previous statements over and over again :D

Just to imagine it, google sets up a "bot police" to stop "bad bots" sound so cringe and so weird.

Google uses AI generated content for local results (biz descriptions) and in many other results But you are not Google, so you are not allowed to use AI generated content, be a good boy like you are

It's funny how people have been using spun content and tools to write articles for years but as soon as you slap *AI* onto it it won't rank. Sure. So how's google going to prove this? Look for spelling mistakes make sure it has pictures and not blocks of text?

Im not really a fan of AI written content. Same game different tools no?

They hate automation, but automate everything themselves!

I agree, how will google tell if it's written by a person or not? As AI advances, it will be pretty much impossible for google to catch all AI written content

well that is more like tos to show good faith. everyone forgott how in tos backlink don't matter? just make quality content and that is good.
since when they follow their own guideline and tos anyway

Yeah we can also say "we want search results manually compiled by people for the people". Will google listen to us? No, they can't. Good luck to google. In only a few years, nobody will manually write shit. Journalists and authors can publish books. Why will they publish great content for google bot for free? Content is not free.

Google demands free content, uses it whatever way they want for their own benefit and then throw sites away like trash, like one time use toilet paper. More and more people will naturally throw garbage content at google bot and keep the best manually written content to use for something more profitable.

Valid points here. Let’s wait for it

Nah. Google doesnt care if the content writtent by AI or real people. Distinguishing between human-written and AI-written content only make it complicated.

Keyword here is FOR PEOPLE. So if the content satisfy search intent, it will fine. If you use AI just to add meaningless sentences to make your article more than 1000 words, don't ask why your site hit penalty.
