Why does IG show "add link" instead of "website" when editing my profile URL?

Hey folks,

Recently in a lot of my IG accounts there appeared "add link" when I wanted to add my URL to my profile. Is that a bad thing? I had some issues with accounts that had this "new feature" as the links weren't showing up here and there (when testing my funnel with mobile devices and desktops) and then I created new ones that had the normal "website" field.

So.. well.. the really strange thing here is when logging into such an account via a browser on my desktop then I even can't change the link in every account that shows "add link" and IG tells me to use my app to edit it - whereas the URL in profiles that show "website" can be changed within the normal browser... so that is really weird..

Maybe you guys can share your thoughts.

instagram has gone crazy now I am changing the link in instagram 211, in 250+ my link does not change

hey iscx, what do you mean with "changing the link in IG 211"? Even my private one has this "add link" feature.. so I assume there's an update happening on IG as I never got back the "website" field.

That doesn't happen to me, it's working fine despite all the updates, maybe it's a bug

I installed the old version of instagram on my smartphone. My links are now changing in "Instagram 211.0.0.33.117"
