Not sure, if this has already been discussed here...

Well, this new Google test could certainly influence things. Now triggered when content is quick to read on mobile and desktop.

If your page can be read in under 5 minutes (that seems to be the threshold), Google is experimenting with several different labels that can appear alongside organic results.

Some users prefer content that is quick to read, rather than a long-form piece of content that can take some time to make your way through. This label highlights the shorter content.

Yes, because nowadays people don't read too much - they just listen, so you need to have a different approach.

I think so, I personally prefer to go in and read an article that can be read quickly.
I personally prefer to read short-form articles that directly answer my search query ..... I think with this new feature we need to have a different approach...

This seems to fly in the face of the view that G rewards long form content and 2k word length articles are the gold standard. If G is reversing course and 800 word count pages are now the hot ticket, we're returning to the days of thousands of pages of single topic, short pages that led in part to panda.

Yes. I see that most key websites rebuild pages and give direct, fast responses to the user's queries.

I do prefer short articles but I think it depends on niche

One of the biggest challenges with these types of inquiries is the tendency for people to look for some sort of magic bullet answer.

A "magic bullet answer" is an answer that applies to all circumstances in all conditions in all locations on all search engines.

There is no such magic bullet answer when it comes to content length.

It all boils down to the type of content people are looking for, the niche, and what your competitors are doing.

There is such a thing as "industry standard" as far as the positioning of a piece of content, and you should pay attention to this.

This is one of the big selling points of content optimization tools like Surfer SEO and Frase.

They come up with some sort of average length that you should target because this increases your chances of ranking higher.

Of course, this is just one of the optimization signals that they bring to your attention, but you get my point.
