The September 2022 core update (Here We Go Again!)

I had a significant drop, here is an example of one of my landing pages dropping starting yesterday. See also how it dropped during an unconfirmed Aug 8 update and then recovered relatively fast. Hoping to recover soon, fingers crossed.

Went from 600 page visibility to 12k overnight and it's now at 13k for the past 3 days now. Which is what GSC had this entire past month.

naw i wish. I had 13k indexed in GSC.

But Google visibility when I used site: X.com only showed 3k, before dropping down to 600 after a month.

2 days later google search shows the 13k, and slowly regaining keywords according to ahrefs.

biggest change was removing generic content that's shown on multiple pages

won a considerable bunch of keywords back that i lost during HCU (out of the ones im tracking in serprobot at least, hoping that it also reflects to the untracked long tails)

neither my positions nor my traffic are still nowhere close to pre-HCU levels, but it seems hopeful

this core update almost feels like a rollback

traffic is going down again, but rankings aren't

i even got my snippets back, not sure what's happening anymore

Analytics details for Wednesday Sept 15th not through yet, from GSC it looks like around 55% traffic drop compared to Monday Sept 12th.

I added more to my about page, linked my blog to my linkedin to show that I am a bit more "expert" in this niche than I was last week. But like everyone else I'm just guessing why I was hit.

As I said before my "writers" from upwork were just using jasper, so I have about 60 articles from 159 that I should review, improve, and sound less AI.

I also got about 400 spammy links 2 weeks ago, so I disavowed all those today.

After that, I don't think there is any point in doing anything else but wait and hope for the best.

Ideally I would just start a brand new content blog, probably on an expired domain, but at the moment I have absolutely no ideas for a niche.

Friday's early update (I'm in GMT), Serprobot is pretty much showing the same results as yesterday. Final traffic for Wednesday was a drop of 45% on Monday. I would estimate Thursday's traffic was down 55/60% on Monday's, it looked really bad when I checked it in real time through the day. Also the recent 400 spammy links I disavowed yesterday are gone from GSC.

However, Thursday's adsense revenue was insane, my best ever, I only put on adsense about 2 weeks ago. I would say somewhere around €41 to €45 per 1000 users.

Anyone else seeing really wacky adsense revenue this week? I know that my traffic is small, now it is probably 120 users per day.

That revenue is a huge surprise and is a real plus point, let's see how it does over the coming days. But I'm going to stick to my original plan, that is to just forget about this domain and hope it comes back, but will start off a new project as soon as I decide on a niche.

I've lost about 15-20% of traffic but everything remains the same, rankings, snippets as far as i can see. Not really sure what happened really.

I’m up and down, was up, then down, then rose even higher, and this morning dropped twice As many rankings in the top 10 lol. Traffics pretty much in half. I am just sick of looking at it honestly. Just gonna keep my head down until this craps completely done, and even then, just keep going.
