[Journey] Ranking A Site That Uses AI Generated Content

Looking good. How many unique visitors?

I know you said you don't want to report earnings, but people will keep asking, because otherwise what's the point of building an AI blog?

On that note, are you still at $200 per month or went higher with the traffic?

It’s over 300 now. EPMV is around 12. Sometimes 14. I’ll check the unique visitors and post about it in the monthly update.

I don’t report earnings for this journey because that’s not the point of this journey. This journey is about ranking AI content. Depending on the niche and monetization, this kind of traffic can make 50 bucks or 5000 bucks. Everyone will have different results.

I‘m sure someone else can make much more money by optimizing this site. I haven’t really bothered to focus on optimizing revenue for this site. It’s just a side project.

If I decide to have some sort of financial goal for this site, I’ll start posting earnings. For now, I just want to try and get it to 50,000 pageviews if I can. I’m running out of topics though. lol.

The site has crossed 40K pageviews in 30 days. I guess the articles that were published over the past few months have aged enough. Let's hope it doesn't get wrecked with the new update.

I'll run a HARO campaign and get a few homepage links for an additional boost.

I have 340 posts published so far. 205,000 words and an average word count of about 600. This should hopefully increase the RPM.

Just finished reading through the whole thread.

This might be the thread that starts me on my very first SEO website project. I'm not a writer and was looking at how to best utilize AI writing tools. I'm in the analysis paralysis phase o_O

I got information overload on starting a website using Ahrefs, site structure, etc... but this seems like a simple straight forward way for me to get me feet wet.

Thanks for putting out all the info you have in this thread ..appreciate it

I'm following and hope I can ask some questions here and there.

I do have one question and we can use the luxury watch example.

So you take the battery example and use that across all brands of watches to create lots of content for individual posts right? Then from batteries you go on to other area's of watches example wristbands, or band pins etc.. so you're able to create a different post for each brand of watch and topic is that correct?
1st change battery in Cartier
2nd post change battery in Tag
3rd change battery in ICW

and so on

Then to expand further

1. remove link in wrist band Cartier
2. remove link in wrist band Tag

And so on?

I'm glad to hear that you're planning to start. You pretty much nailed it in terms of strategy. You can either do it by "problem" like you suggested or you can do it by brand.

Option #1: Exactly like you said. Find a common problem and see what options autocomplete has for other brands.

Option #2: Find the top 10 B grade brands (Rolex, Omega, IWC etc) and use autocomplete to find all the questions about those brands.

If I were to start a site, I'd take Option #2. But Option #1 will work too.

=====

If you want to start a site, I recommend doing it ASAP. Your articles need to age so the sooner you start the better.

Besides your keywords, there's not much to analyze. If you do your keyword research right, you don't have to worry about site structure, competition, AHREFS or anything else. Just get a domain, find low competition keywords and start publishing. You can always refine later.

All the best.

Thanks for the quick reply appreciate it.

I plan to start this website next week. I'm going to throw out the procrastination and just get something up and published at least it's something and I can make changes as needed but it's up and running nonetheless.

I'll need to do a bit of research for getting the site up and running on WP but I'm planning on just using a free lightweight theme like Astra for now and I've started to watch the videos you posted in the SEO course thread.

Thanks

How has the new Helpful Update and September Core update affected the site? Care to share?

So far there haven’t been any changes. Traffic is still around 40K. I don’t think the update did much to combat AI content. My other AI sites seem to be doing fine too.

I am new to blogging, sorry if this question sounds stupid..., are you using backlinks? or any off page seo thing?

Your question is not stupid at all. I recently started a HARO campaign for the sites so I should be getting 3-4 HARO links a month going forward. Prior to the HARO campaign, I had maybe 5-6 guest posts in total.

If you do your keyword research properly, you don't need any backlinks to rank.
