[Journey] Ranking A Site That Uses AI Generated Content

I read them. I understand how to check comp. But the kws I find , the search volume is low. Should I target them. How many search volume of kw do you go after

To determine volume, this post from @Royal96 is a good place to start.

Its a more accurate way of determining volume that most tools out there.

When you say that the keywords you find are low volume, how do you determine the volume?

Just use tool like keyword everywhere.
I know even low search volume kw can bring much traffic. But the kw like "Do Cartier watches have batteries" I don't think it can't.
And the kw I found just like that, don't have other kws in the same topic so should I remove kw like that?

That keyword was just an example I used because someone was asking specifically about luxury watches. It's impossible to say for sure but that keyword should have at least 2-300 searches in my opinion. Maybe more. I could be wrong of course but it's impossible to know for sure without actually writing the content.

It depends on how old your articles are. I don't recommend deleting any content that's aged. Repurpose the content by changing the title and the entire article if you have to but don't change the permalink.

Hi Warrior,
Can you tell us how much dollars you're making with 20k pageviews / months?

Thanks!
At a epmv of around $10, I would say something like $200-$300 per month in my experience. Or higher, if the epmv is higher

Yeah, you're right. EPMV is 12 to 14. The newer articles are a bit longer so the EPMV should be higher.

Yes it is. Everything looks good so far. Traffic is stable too.

None of my other AI sites seem to have been affected either.

However, my sites are not auto generated. They’re like regular sites with everything done manually. All the AI content is edited before being published.

Just thought I'd post an update after the Google Algo. Traffic dropped by about 12% compared to the previous 30 days. I have posts scheduled throughout the month for publishing so the traffic should be back soon.

It doesn't seem like a big hit so far. I still have a lot of snippets and over a hundred keywords on page 1.

Here's the comparison:

Is that an analytics image your sharing?

My website got hit hard, although i am changing everything to longer articles and fixing broken links.

Regarding backlinks have you done campaigns?

Best regards

Yea, it’s a screenshot from Analytics.

A lot of sites got hit. This site lost about 10-15% of traffic but it still has a lot of snippets and page 1 rankings. The traffic is back to just under 22K pageviews in 30 days.

I haven’t done much in terms of backlinks. Just a couple of relevant guest posts that I made last year. I’ll also ran a HARO campaign a few months ago and got some homepage links. Nothing great though. And I didn’t see any improvement in traffic or rankings.

I don’t bother too much with links. If the keyword research is good, you don’t need any links.

Hey, warriorsam53!

I'm quite new to BHW and I've been following your journeys for a while now. Thank you for some great and educational content!

I'm wondering, how many words do you have on average per post? I noticed in the intro that you were aiming for 300-500 word posts. Is that still the case?

Also, the PAA questions that you generate content for, have you done any research to estimate search volumes or are you just creating content for any question that seems relevant to the niche?

Thank you!

One of my sites got hit too. Keep up with your journey!

Thanks a lot.

I think these questions are about my other journey but I’ll answer them here anyway.

For this site, the initial batch of 150 or so posts were 100-200 words each. Although these rank well, the we revenue is low because of the maximum number of ads that can be displayed.

The content after the initial batch is 500+ words. Sometimes 1000+.

For the PAA site, all the posts are around 1000 words.

This site doesn‘t have any PAA questions. That’s my other journey. I haven’t done any research whatsoever. I scraped every single PAA related to the niche and made an article.

It’s hard to estimate the search volume for PAA questions because these questions aren’t typed into Google by users. They should all technically have zero search volume since they’re made up questions.

Ah, typical.. My bad! I have all your journeys among a couple of others open in tabs at all times. I guess I must've lost track of it. Thanks for correcting me though!

I see. So, in the initial batch of AI generated posts, were you only answering a single question in each post? Also, is it possible for you to estimate how much traffic that initial batch is generating each month?

Sorry for continuing the PAA discussion here, hope it's OK, but do you think that a blog with a mix of longer, personally researched and written posts of 1000-2500 words, could do well in complement with AI generated posts of 500-1000 words answering a bunch of PAA questions?

I'm currently building a blog in a niche that I want to try and gain topical authority in by thoroughly covering a bunch of sub niches. Was wondering if the PAA method could be a good complement for this.

Yes, I target just a single question in each post. If I have to guess, about 80-90% of the traffic is from the initial batch. The subsequent batches are newer so they’ll take some time to get traffic.

Personally,I keep separate sites for AI content. It’s pretty easy to detect AI content. Detecting PAA sites is even easier. It’s only a matter of time until they get hit.

I’ll make money while I can with AI and PAA sites but I don’t want the sites with handwritten content to lose traffic when Google decides to target AI content.

As of now, I don’t know whether PAA establishes topical authority. That’s why I started the other journey. We should be able to figure it out in a few months.
