[Journey] Ranking A Site That Uses AI Generated Content

Amazing story! Hadn't the chance to read through all, but it's inspiring :)

One question, have you found out how important is a proper formatting of the posts?

Do you need to be adsense approved to use Ezoic or can they approve you if you meet their requirements without worrying about you being adsense approved?

No, you don’t need Adsense to use Ezoic. You need to have a Google Ad Manager account. Ezoic can help you set it up.

Never bothered that much about formatting. I just make sure there are small paras and no walls of text.

Hey @warriorsam53 can you pm me, because i can't pm you ? about how you analyze the competition, read your post until the end still can't understand it, do you see the competition when you don't see the title, heading 1-6 ? or just really see the satisfaction of the search intet ?, if you can do pm me, I want to ask for examples of keywords, whether the analysis I did was correct or not.

By format, do you mean there is no H2 H3 on your post body?

In the initial batch of keywords, there were no headings. The content was just 100-150 words. For the longer articles that I added, I need the headings just to break up the content.

I also have other sites where the posts have no structure or headings. For some of my sites, I follow the standard structure with H2, H3 etc. It all depends on the type of content.

I’m not sure what you mean by heading 1-6. I try to see if the search intent is satisfied.

A single page can rank for thousands of keywords. You can‘t have a thousand keywords in your title.

Even without the keyword in the title, a page can satisfy the search intent. Search intent is more important to me than the placement of keywords.

I’ll send you a PM.

Thanks for the clarification.

My AI is splitting up the content, but currently not formatting anything (Headings, Lists, etc.)
Not sure if I focus on that :)

If the content is long form, I usually add headings, lists etc to break it up into sections. It has nothing to do with ranking.

Update: The site got hit by the September update. Lost about half the traffic.

I can also see a couple of new competitors who've stumbled onto this niche. There was no other competition before.

I'm not going to change anything. I'll continue publishing content. So far, I have 380 posts live on the site.

A lot of AI content generation tools have been popping up recently. I was wondering whether the content will be able to rank so I thought of trying it out and making a journey out of it.

So, I found a no competition niche. I generally try and get snippets on Google so this niche should be perfect for that. Basically, it's the same question that's being asked about different products. The question can be answered in one line. It shouldn't take more than a minute or so to find the answer to each question. That's the only research I'll need to do.

I saw a few reviews for different tools and decided to use https://www.conversion.ai.

I used Google Autosuggest and got around 200 questions people are searching for. I'm going to find the answers to those questions and then use AI to generate the rest of the content. I'll aim for around 3-500 words of AI generated content for each post. It should cost around $120 in credits for 100,000 words.

Here's some sample content generated by the AI. I'm going to use "make money online" for the example.

These are 3 variations of a blog post introduction for a make money online post:

Are you looking for a way to make money online? There are many ways that people go about making money, but not all of them are effective. This blog post will cover some tips and tricks that may help you find success with your business.

If you're wondering what the best way to make money online is, this article will help. We'll cover a number of ways that can work for anyone looking to earn some extra cash!

It's no secret that we live in a digital world. In today's society, the internet is one of the most popular ways to make money online. This article will explore how you can start making money by using your skills and talents on sites like YouTube, Fiverr or Freelancer.

These are 3 variations of listicles on different ways to make money online:

1. Sell your old clothes
2. Become a virtual assistant
3. Do some freelance work for other people on the internet
4. Get paid to take surveys online
5. Create an account with Swagbucks and earn points that can be redeemed for gift cards or cash rewards

1. Sell items on eBay
2. Start an Etsy store
3. Offer services through Fiverr or Upwork
4. Create a blog and monetize it with Google Adsense ads, affiliate marketing, or advertising from sponsorships

1. Sell on eBay
2. Become a freelance writer
3. Create an e-course
4. Start a blog and monetize it with ads, affiliate links, or sponsorships
5. Build websites for other people in exchange for money

It's pretty good in my opinion. Especially for filler content.

Since the keywords are very easy, I think I should start getting traffic in around 3-4 months. Looking at the content, it seems that it shouldn't have a problem ranking. I got a brand new domain a few days ago. I'm not planning to build any links to the site. Once it hits 1000 page views a month, I'll monetize it with ads.

I'll try my best to complete the entire site by the end of this month. After that, I'll post monthly updates.

What do you think? If spun and translated content can rank, can AI generated content rank without any links?
Will try to do like it soon

I saw a few ai sites get slapped in certain niches, I also saw some improve in other niches where real sites were dropping.

Out of interest, how much internal linking do you do please mate?

Yeah it’s been weird. Strangely, a lot of sites with hand written content got hit. AI is doing fine. Lol.

Maybe it’ll pick up again in a couple of months.

I have almost no contextual internal links. Every post has a bunch of related posts recommended at the bottom. I use a related posts plug-in in Wordpress to do that automatically.

Some people say that Google penalises these kinds of internal links but they seem to work fine for me.

I've seen a few people on Skype and Slack say there are a couple of these plugins that they avoid using, but they still link maybe by using Link Whisper or similar, but they remove the related post box plugins.

Yeah, I’ve heard some people say that it’s not good to use the related post plugins too. I use them on a lot of sites and I’ve never had a problem.

Link Whisper helps with contextual links so it definitely shouldn‘t be a problem. I tell my writers to include anchors for internal links so they take care of it for me.

Just a quick update.

The traffic seems to have leveled off. It's back to June 2022 levels.

I was checking out the analytics and 8 pages have lost about 60-90% of their traffic. For some reason, they're not ranking anywhere. I'm going to have these pages rewritten and see if that helps. I also have 50 new posts that are ready to be published.

Here's a screenshot for October vs September:

Update

Not much to report. The traffic is still around 19K pageviews. I haven't added any new content or done anything else to the site. I'll try and update some of the articles this month.

Have you found the reason for the sharp drop after the 23rd?
How many of the 300 or so content have you updated? Do you do this on a regular basis?
Do you take into account the kgr rate for keyword research or do you pay attention to a certain search volume?

I wish you success in this adventure.

I think it was the Google update. I lost almost 60% of the traffic. Technically, everything seems to be okay.

I don’t think I’ve updated more than a couple of articles on this site. It’s on my to-do list.

I think KGR is BS. I don’t use it at all for any site. It makes no sense to me.

I do focus on volume but I don’t use any tools to get the volume because the data is wrong. I determine the volume based on the number of variations that show up for the same keyword using auto suggest.

But I have no idea what the exact volume of any keyword is. Nobody does.
