Can you rank without backlinks?

Let's say I launched a Blog and wrote 1 article per day full of normal volume and medium to low competition keywords.

Can I actually rank these blog posts WITHOUT a single backlink to my homepage or to my my posts?
By no backlinks i mean, without actively looking for guest posts or do any sort of SEO.

Simply by writing and letting the article be.

I read online this is not possible.

How will you determine “medium to low” competition?

If your keywords are truly low comp, yes you can easily rank and get traffic with no backlinks.

Depends on your keyword and specially long tail keywords rank better when you have no competition.

I dont have any backlinks. I published 14 articles. According to semrush they are under 50 kd. My highest ranking is 14. Few more at 30-60 position. Idk if its good or bad

You can write an article and rank quickly for long tail, obscure, almost zero search terms.

You cannot write an article of 1k words or 10k words about; Pay Day Loans and expect to rank for pay day loans, without links.

Yes, you can. If you are gonna target very very low competition keywords and have the supporting articles to support your main article by internal linking. You can rank it.

But how long is your article gonna remain on the 1st page?

For sustaining the ranking, you are gonna need the backlinks.
